I believe we have the best developmental staff at Illinois since I've watch them (1983). Underwood, Fletch and the three assts. are top shelf. I see recruiting continue to be strong we win and develop players.

St Rita lost. Just couldn't score down the stretch. Can't a high school coach just get some plays off the internet to run? I'm always shocked at how helter skelter high school basketball is.
It seems to me good things happened when our coaches kept doing full court press.

Was at the game and have seen St Rita previously. The good is both Morez and Brown have very good (college) size and already have some quick spin post moves while being fairly active big men. The bad is they are both average athletes and relatively poor shooters. Morez specifically is much thicker than last year but it appears to have taken away some of his athletic ability imo. As one if my buddies said I would have both of them shooting 1000 shots a day.
I feared St Rita's guards could struggle and they did mightily.
I watch a lot of high school basketball, where you see a lot of extremely well executed plays.

Initially, I thought offering Phoenix Gill might have been more of a legacy courtesy. But he's morphing into a legit player. Definitely gonna be interesting to keep tabs on his development.

Sure makes you wonder how Brad has been able to win the most games in the Big 10 the last 3 years.
Just wome thoughts...How does St. Rira lose when they are up 14 with 4.30 minutes left in game? Especially when you have 3 high major recruits on the floor?
Morez much bigger than last year, seems to be bigger and better than JB. Body shape reminds me of Dainja. Mostly inside player now.
JB, similiar game to Morez. Seems a little stiff and mechanical. Showed some ability to dribble but often dribbled into double teams. A junior, but I dont see him as a Duke recruit. Wonder if a Coleman Hawkins type big would work better. Once again his game can develop the next two years.
Indrus..., not overly impressed. Needs weight room and stronger with dribble. Made several mistakes like dribbling to bucket to far and into traffic with no where to go. Wasn't automatic from outside. Was surprised by how many "coaching" mistakes he made, expected better fundamentals.

Serious question, how good are their guards? How well do they shoot free throws?
If you can’t get your dudes/FT shooters the ball when the pressure is turned up in a desperation situation for the other team, you’re gonna be in trouble.
