So.....this is......really unreal.

I've been MIA for a few days because my younger brother passed away in his sleep suddenly Thursday morning. No health issues that we know of. He is a professional caddy at Bandon Dunes for 15+ years (Juggy...if any of you have been out there) and walks countless miles per day when working. An amazing golf nerd that missed qualifying for the US Open and the US Senior Open by only a couple of strokes both this year.

He is a die hard, big time Tennessee fan. He was so happy....geeked that both our programs were ranked and headed for a big year this year. Big basketball fan.

I log back in to read about football (RW to PU)....and this pops up.

And I can't stop smiling. I needed this badly. It is amazing that something so minor as a basketball series between two schools can have such a profound impact out of literally nowhere. Just days removed from maybe the most tragic day in my life.

It goes without saying that....we...will be at both games. :illinois:

Going through a family death this week as well and I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine the pain of losing a sibling. I'm glad the universe found a way to mix in some smiles and joy for you and your family now and given you moments you'll be able to share with him in the upcoming years. 🧡💙 .

Very sorry to hear about that, skyldub. Glad the news came so timely. Hopefully the Illini can come back with two wins in this series.

So sorry to hear of your loss. It is just impossible to understand how things can happen in such short times without warning. Glad you can find joy in the new series and that will surely provide you with a smile as you work through the loss. Will keep you in my thoughts.

skyldub, my sincere condolences. I’m glad for you that you got a message from Heaven, and you’ve found something positive in the midst of your grief. BTW, I’ve always appreciated that you were the best ‘gif’ master, and your great gifs have been missed…

Just stopped back in to say thanks so much for all the kind thoughts and words...I really do appreciate it!

I honestly didn't mean to derail the ILL v Tenn. series thread with my personal biz!
But this was just too nutty of a.... "coincidence"....(yeah it's more proof of the simulation y'all)...not to bring it up!

I’m so sorry for your loss. Have made the trip to Bandon multiple times and Juggy and Sven are always our caddies.

Since hearing the news I’ve struggled with the loss, and I’m honestly devastated by his passing. As we’ve discussed amongst our group, it’s hard to think about Bandon without our caddies. In the wake of his passing, it’s been remarkable to reflect on the friendship one establishes with a guy who lives thousands of miles away, and whom I’ve only spent about 10 days with in my lifetime. I think that speaks to Juggy and the type of caddie/ person he was. He was the perfect balance between the fun free spirited golf lover and the consummate professional. He treated others with respect, and I loved seeing him holding starters/ rangers to that same standard. He seemed like a guy that was always looking to get better whether it was his golf game, overall wellness (particularly his flexibility). It’s funny to think back about the dozen of hours we spent with him on property. I don’t recall a lot of shots but the memories flood back of laughing with Juggy or heeding his advice with the golf swing “TRW…tempo, rhythm and watch that ball”.

For all of us no matter our profession, it quickly becomes a job that hopefully is supported by our passions and sustains us. Juggy was the example of a guy who if the job is done right, you will leave an impact on others as he’s certainly done for us.

I felt compelled to write this to share our memories, and also to maybe pass along a golfers / friend’s perspective of Juggy’s legacy. Please share as you see fit along with our condolences to all those impacted.
Sincerely,

Matt

I too am so sorry for your loss …I can’t even believe Juggy is gone. It’s hard to think that has free spirited, smiling face and cheery self is gone. I just “googled” Juggy and saw your post and compelled to write. I caddied with Juggy from 08

I too am so sorry for your loss …I can’t even believe Juggy is gone. It’s hard to think that his free-spirited, smiling face is gone. It’s incomprehensible. I just “googled” Juggy to find anything as I can’t stop thinking about him. I saw your post and felt compelled to write. I caddied with Juggy from 08-12. I hung out with Hilgemann, Matt and Juggy at their house those years and they made me laugh uncontrollably. Juggy’s classic comment was “I have a jump in the ball washer”, aka take a shower. :) Juggy loved Tennessee and I graduated from Iowa so lots of bickering about the better team during college football season. There will never be another Juggy..he touched everyone he met and was wise beyond his years. Juggy made everyone feel important. He will be missed so much and I send my deepest sympathy to you and entire family.
I love you Juggy and So upset that you left this world way too soon…you lived life to the fullest.
Sincerely, Lynne Carothers

Sorry to hear of this, sky. I can't imagine losing my younger sibling. So many shared memories growing up, even if we're not as close geographically or our lives as intertwined as we used to be. I'm sure it's going to be a tough holiday season for you and your family, but hope the new year brings only good things and warm remembrances.

Been a rough day for my dad today..........he is having trouble keeping his oxygen saturation level up high enough to clear his carbon dioxide completely from his body .....I have been on the phone with my mom off and on most of the afternoon and evening and they are monitoring dad closely and I had one of his nurses at the nursing home bring up moving him to hospice care , so it's gonna be a long night for me and my family...
decisions will be made sometime tomorrow about the next course of action ....The nurse told me his vitals are strong and his appetite is good but he has to be on full oxygen mask to keep the saturation rate up enough to clear the co2............

keep us in your thoughts and prayers my friends as you all mean so much to me ..................
