And if he can get in trouble they'll be good even faster than that.Hugh Freeze, like him or hate him, is a relentless recruiter. If he can stay out of trouble, Auburn will be good very quickly!
There are no rebuilds in college football anymore, especially not in the SEC. Not in the way that term is understood. It's whatever, but must have been quite the bag to lure him to Auburn at the start of a rebuild and a coach who could be dismissed halfway through the season for yet another scandal.
This is just a matter of changing the culture here, pure and simple. Illinois has over 470,000 living alumni (800,000 for the entire system) vs. only 240,000 for Auburn. The state of Illinois has almost EIGHT MILLION more people than Alabama - a state that Auburn splits for fans with the ever-more popular Crimson Tide, whereas we are the sole state school. Even if you take out Cook, DuPage, Lake AND Will Counties (which you shouldn't, as there are tons of Illini graduates/fans in all of these places...), Illinois is clearly bigger than Alabama. Additionally, by every predictor of income out there, it would seem Illinois' alumni base is likely better off financially ... while this is not strictly related to sports, an example might be Illinois' endowment of nearly $4 billion vs. Auburn's $1 billion.Need to have the money before you can dish the money. Our boosters are nowhere close to the level of SEC boosters, from what I hear.
NIL gets worse unless there's somehow a CBA, which means CFB would arguably need even more "tiers."
It might be on a conference basis, which is one benefit to super conferences.
A super conferencd with 20 teams ith the same NIL limits is basically a minor league.
Coach tells you in his tweet what happened, #NIL!
Didn't Bret and A Henry put in the time and effort to visit him after his graduation? I'd be po'd too.
I mean thst's what scholarships are meant to be in an ideal world, but those are limitated by a lot of strict rules that don't really matter because most NIL bags arent for walkons.I think the way the NIL was constituted was really bad. The reason we should pay these student-atheletes, as the claim went, was that the NCAA/Universities were making money off the kids. Which is true.
Why then has the NCAA/Universities asked alums to pay for the NIL?
The money should come from the monies made from various sources by the NCAA/Universities. Set aside a pot that all schools contribute into and then disburse from that pot. Or, something like that.
By the university? No. It’s a private deal and I don’t see how it would be subject to any FOI rules.is amount of NIL money ever released publicly ?
Freeze isnt going anywhereIt's whatever, but must have been quite the bag to lure him to Auburn at the start of a rebuild and a coach who could be dismissed halfway through the season for yet another scandal.

I notice you keep saying "we"We have to figure out a way to dish out more NIL money. It looks like we can't compete with these other schools when it comes to this. I've been hearing rumors we don't have a ton of NIL money to dish out for football. I don't know if that's true or not, but if it is, we have to figure something out or we will get crushed in the transfer portal football wise.
We all know how that game works right? You contact his HS coach or others that might know to see if the player in question has any interest. I can't imagine there's a school out there that doesn't do this, including Illinois.fwliw, its still "illegal" to contact a player on another roster is they are not officially in the portal
that might dissuade some schools not named Notre Dame
