Really think he will get some minutes against Edey. He is aggressive and not weak.
Absolutely agree with this. BU must prep Lieb for Edey starting now. Lieb needs to get comfortable coming into games on a regular basis and the team needs to get comfortable watching him check into games and making him part of the offense and defense. Who else on the bench is there to play against Edey?

To be clear, I wasn’t clownin’ on Lieb. Glad he got to play today and he did so well.

I was clownin on Garcia though. I don’t know where he’d play for us unless it was the same role Lieb has.
Honestly, Garcia had a great showing today from what I saw. I was very impressed with his play. He's been on average a 20ppg, 10rpg guy in his last 5 with very good efficiency and looked the part to me. I'd guess he'd be a 20-25mpg player here at Illinois. And my guess is we'd like his game. 3 man rotation with him, Dain, and CoHawk each getting between 20 and 30min. He's on a bad team but he looked like a really good player

Sorry about being off topic:
But, do you think that kid required much medical attention after that?
Between that day and the things she did later, yes, I'm guessing the kid has seen his share of doctors. Not to mention therapists.

Life is hard. Harder when your older sister is a malicious sociopath.

Edey is so babied by the refs it's unreal ... Idk if any of you saw the play of him and Sissoko but this was called a foul on Sissoko ... Was not reviewed ...

Well at worst she is. At best she’s got a helluva mean streak and is a real crummy driver.

So .. the hook and hold rule was put in place because of previous Purdue giant Isaac Haas getting hurt on a play just like this. Yet its not called here. Irony?

Exactly ... Big Ten refs let Edey get away with everything on a nightly basis ... Last 8 games ... 7 of them with 1 foul or less . I find that INSANELY hard to believe that he fouls less than 1 time a game ... Averages less than 1 foul a game on the season ... Crazy ...

But of course, they're gonna make sure they get that "charge" called on Coleman ... Give me a break ...

This was an absolutely horrible call. It was a close game too. This could have been the difference. Big Ten officials are the worst. I even attribute the BT National Championship drought to our !!!!!! officiating.

not only that, they call walker on a foul going over a screen (which if you wnat to call it, you could EVERY possession) with 30 seconds to go to put loyer on the line. LOL

I hope so. It could be magical or embarassing. I would be fine with it as a fan either way.

I agree 100 %.......last year poor edey had his elbow hurt by all the noses and faces banging in to it ......I feel so sorry for the gentle giant......

NOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT !!....................he gets away with more crap than anyone , but what should we expect from B$G officials ??????

If King Kofi would have gotten the same treatment from the refs, he would have been unstoppable in the post within 6 feet

Disagree. Let Edey go for 30+ and lock everyone else up.

RJ is the most perplexing thing of the entire season for me. BU says he virtually never misses in practice, and we were all expecting a lot from him this season based on how well he played last season, media included. And don't get me wrong...I think he's playing really well other than his shooting. It just has to be a confidence issue at this point. I want so badly for him to get two or three shots in a row to go down. Once that happens and he becomes the legit offensive threat we all know he can be, our team will be significantly better. Keeping my fingers crossed that it's the Indiana game!
He actually had flashes last season. Of course, the appendix issue was a factor, but he didn't even play against Chattanooga. So people are taking a few strong games and extrapolating to a whole season this year.

I'm wondering if those unrealistic expectations have been a factor for him. As I said a few days ago, we just need him to establish a strong baseline to build from.

Haven’t read the post game board yet….forgive me if it’s redundant.

Heck of a statement tonight. Plus 20 on the road anywhere in the B1G is a great win.
Brandon Lieb…..hats off to you. No junk minutes here….needed him and he delivered. Outstanding.
(Perhaps the Lieb jokes and jabs will finally be put to rest. Key contributor tonight)
Ty Rodgers is a man. Welcome to the party Ty. Tonight is what Illini Nation expected, waited for, and has now seen firsthand.
This team is exciting again…..and Luke is lurking.
I L L . . .
