Cal, Muss, Miller, Tang, McDermott … I heard Dixon said no based off some certain things but would be open to re negotiations … Same thing with Cal … But I don’t think they get either …

Paint didn’t even take the call …
Yeah, Painter ain't leaving Purdue just yet (if ever). He's a legend there. Probably why Shrews will take a job like G'town, St. John's, or Notre Dame. He can't wait that long to be Painter's successor.

Texas poached Shaka Smart when he was at the top of the world and Chris Beard after recently making a Championship Game. They have a number 2 seed team, they likely think they can get anyone they want.

Bingo … Shrews is just taking a job until Paint retires that pays a little more than PSU … More publicity …
Painter could easily have another 20 years in him. He's 52. For reference, Boeheim went until he was 78. Shrewsberry is 46, so he's only six years younger than Painter. The timing will probably never work out for him to take the Purdue HC job.

Paint HATES the portal and NIL world … There will come a time when he is done at Purdue and it’s coming sooner, not later …

Fitz just held a press conference to announce that he didn't either, nor from any NFL teams that are hiring.

As the Coach of the team that won the Big Ten Regular season and tournament and has a Number 1 Seed firmly in the "Portal & NIL" era, I probably won't be the one to declare his career dead. Some guys are "program builders" and attract "program guys", Painter is one of those. Purdue has some of the best retention rates in the country, imo.

For sure … But these guys are multi millionaires … They are away from their families A LOT … It gets old once you get to a certain age dealing with teenagers all the time …

For Paint - he won’t be like a Coach K or Jim … He will be more like a Jay Wright … Go out early and on his own terms … At least that’s what he’s told me … You may know something different … 🤷🏻‍♂️

wouldn't shock me if Jay Wright threw his hat back into coaching at some point

Assuming the game doesn't pass Painter by at some point. I'm not saying it will, but there are plenty of coaches who perform at a high level and then suddenly they lose it due to lack of capacity to innovate over time.

Boeheim himself is a pretty good example of this.
