Knowing how they have played, if you could have curbelo and Miller on this roster right now would you say yes?
Don't want to dump on a former player, but I think neither improved since they left, at least not looking at them statistically. Maybe in a category or two, but overall efficiency looks down a bit.
Serious question: how many guys who've left under BU made a significant step forward at their new destination?

Podz didn't make a significant step, he made a giant leap...and probably into the league next year.Don't want to dump on a former player, but I think neither improved since they left, at least not looking at them statistically. Maybe in a category or two, but overall efficiency looks down a bit.

One could also argue underwood prepped him for that leapPodz didn't make a significant step, he made a giant leap.
I think he gave Trent credit, if that counts for us.One could also argue underwood prepped him for that leap
I get your position, mine is the minute players start signing contracts is the day I stop following college athletics (We're almost to that point IMHO).The reason why the NBA and other pro leagues (aside from the NFL, maybe) don't sign young players to one-year contracts is because they have collective bargaining agreements in place with the players' unions that, along with the draft, allow them to lock in young players for well below market value for several years.
By restricting player movement, the NCAA had a version of this in place for a very long time. If pro players were free agents from day one, you'd see a trend very much like what we are seeing in the NCAA right now. I feel differently about this than a lot of folks do and generally support the rights of players to get the best available deal, but regardless the NCAA's failure to protect itself in this situation is pretty stunning compared to the overall landscape of big money sports.
Guess I'm different, but RJ never impressed me.
But what has the portal given to us lately? And stop taking portal, you've shared your suck enough, just stop.Portal giveth and portal taketh away.
Plummer, Dainja, Shannon and Mayer is a hell of a portal run, man…But what has the portal given to us lately? And stop taking portal, you've shared your suck enough, just stop.

One could, but that doesn’t mean one should. One could also argue underwood prepped him for that leap
That's what I like to hear. I'll look forward to seeing a complete list by tomorrow morning I'm patient that way lolIt will give us plenty this year lol

Totally agree! Many of those that left did so after their freshman year. The take that after they transferred they have not developed after one or two years into some u realistic expectation is a bit distorted.
If our staff program is a “development program, (as repeatedly stated by BU), then their development should be evaluated after 3, 4, or 5 years. (development program indicates ‘long term’ - not one and done). Ex: a player that comes ranked as a high three * but leaves after year one is not an NBA lottery pick one year after transfer is ridiculous. Let’s see how it plays out long term….since we are a development program, signing players that need to develop. Seriously…..common sense.
The fact of the matter is that we are losing a lot of players after their first year (or two)....These are highly rated prospects that we have either poorly evaluated, poorly developed, or are discontented with our program.
If you want to argue the numbers (how many players) are in the portal, there are far more players from non-P5 schools trying to compete at our level, as well as many grad transfers.
The question should be asked why we seem to have top100-150 rated players that are leaving so quickly.
We shouldn’t be comparing our 4* freshman transfers to mid major and below sophomores and juniors wanting to make the ‘big show’ in CBB.
Too many people drinking O&B elixirs.
Hey, don’t let me tell you what to do.I get your position, mine is the minute players start signing contracts is the day I stop following college athletics (We're almost to that point IMHO).
I happened to run across the original GIF of this the other day!! Had never seen this without Bruce's face on it
