Worse yet, (at the risk of completely misinterpreting Indy's post), Kansas players transferring to Xavier? You’ll comment on KANSAS transfer players before they’re in the portal, but not Illini players?!!! Why you tease us?!![]()
Its musical chairs as some players may not find a seat to their liking once the music stops.Scholarships are basically renewed on a yearly basis anyway, so it really doesn't matter. The school is under no obligation to bring back a player who enters the portal. It's definitely a risk for players, especially with so many 5th year guys. There are more eligible players than usual for the same number of scholarships. You better be confident you will land somewhere else...
He's commenting on Harrison Ingram, who is in the transfer portal from Stanford. His prediction is he'll transfer to either Kansas or Xavier. At least, that's how I'm reading it.You’ll comment on KANSAS transfer players before they’re in the portal, but not Illini players?!!! Why you tease us?!![]()
Yes I’m aware…He's commenting on Harrison Ingram, who is in the transfer portal from Stanford. His prediction is he'll transfer to either Kansas or Xavier. At least, that's how I'm reading it.
Then I'm confused since you said this, "You’ll comment on KANSAS transfer players before they’re in the portal, but not Illini players?!!!" Ingram IS in the portal. That's it.Yes I’m aware…
Yeah that would be great but most of them would probably have a hard time finding a new school and coach if the truth was told.I wish when a player decides to enter the portal instead of the generic thank you’s to the university and coaching staff they would come right out and give their reasons for leaving
At O’Malley’s?Don McLean would write “The Day The NIL Made Basketball Die.”
I still don't believe it unless it actually happens.
I meant potential transfers in. I just worded it kind of funny. I’m just joking around anyway. I appreciate all of the info our insiders give us.Then I'm confused since you said this, "You’ll comment on KANSAS transfer players before they’re in the portal, but not Illini players?!!!" Ingram IS in the portal. That's it.
No, I think Juwan is going to be paying Hunter big money to transfer here so he can throw the game against Michigan next year.Maybe Huntie is just playing us so he can do a Cliff hat FU to us at his announcement.
They are SOL. It happens to a non-trivial percentage of the players. I posted some numbers on this a while back if you want to do a search .When a player enters the portal, do they automatically lose their scholarship at the school they want to leave? I've wondered what happens if a player enters and then get no offers.
If I'm reading it correctly, 32% of Division 1 basketball players that entered the portal in 2022 were not signed by another school. https://www.ncaa.org/sports/2022/4/...vision-i-student-athlete-transfer-trends.aspxThey are SOL. It happens to a non-trivial percentage of the players. I posted some numbers on this a while back if you want to do a search .

You can have Taylor Swift , I'll take this NL recruit........I really really will.......................Hey , I just had to do it , know what I mean ???
Thanks. I see it as a reasonable consequence that they then have to face for their decisions. According to Illini 993's post, apparently a non-significant % find out that the grass is not always greener, in fact sometimes there is no grass at all. They are SOL. It happens to a non-trivial percentage of the players. I posted some numbers on this a while back if you want to do a search .
very good post , using facts to define your post .....good job bro..............I'm a hard pass on him...........Shedrick was losing minutes it seemed as the season wore on, and then only started getting minutes again after their other big (Vander Plas) went down with an injury. If he was behind Vander Plas in the pecking order, I'm not sure how I excited I am about that one.
I interpret it as Kansas flamed out in the tourney, therefore he will not go there.Said this a while ago before he was even in the portal but …

I'm not crazy about a 6'10" guy that shoots 48.7% and doesn't attempt three pointers.
I don't know... I saw a stat on him that showed OppFG% was over 10% lower when he was on the court than when he wasn't last year. I think Bennett may have gone with Vander Plas a bit more because they were so offensively challenged.Shedrick was losing minutes it seemed as the season wore on, and then only started getting minutes again after their other big (Vander Plas) went down with an injury. If he was behind Vander Plas in the pecking order, I'm not sure how I excited I am about that one.
