- My name rhymes with the world best bib makers.
- I'm old enough to know better but still too young to care.
- I despise the Cubs
- I'm a 6 handicap at my course and a 15 everywhere else.

Things are getting a little weird around here now with asking for hints about who we are.

Bardo don’t know jack btw
I personally don't believe that, tbh. He is pretty tied in. He may not know as much as say Indy in this case, but he seems pretty clued in. He had some ideas when Skyy transferred and tried to dance around it a little bit while giving some info.

Yet our coach picked the players.

One of my best mentors in business admonished me to always review my own processes and hiring practices whenever someone quit under me.
That's fair but this is happening everywhere so I think its a pipe dream that you are gonna pick all the right guys who will stay forever. There are only so many top 100 guys to go around. If that ever happens let me know.

Was born in Central Illinois …

Sounds like I’ll be returning there as well … Work transfer …

Indy name is stuck though … Can’t change it now … Spent almost 20 years of my life in Indy …
Where in Central Illinois? I'm not trying to find out who you are, as I think mysteries make things far more interesting, just curious as I'm from Clinton myself.

Yeah, I have really changed my opinion of the program having much blame in these transfers. Just looking around the NCAA you see it everywhere. And there is not always a clear reason. The kid from Creighton and Hunter Dickinson are good examples of top guys who have great situations deciding to go elsewhere. Which both seem strange(even if I can think of a bunch of reasons to get away from Howard). They are faces of their programs and still move on. You see guys leave one place to go another...and then leave and go to another...and sometimes again and again. Just looking at our past transfers you see it(Miller, Curbelo, Payne). Underwood didn't yell at them at their next stops too did he? Or did their mom's not like those coaches either?

The answer is the NCAA has unleashed a crazy free-for-all for a generation of talent that have lived their whole lives jumping from one AAU team to another, sometimes one high school to another. These kids have never developed that real sense of being part of a team. Looking out for yourself is great...but forgetting this is a team game leads to 1500+ guys in the portal.

Underwood could turn into Mr Rogers and he would still lose players. The players are never going to come out and say, "I'm probably gonna bail on you next year". They lie just like coaches lie to them. They use the term committed without having an apparent understanding of what the word means. I mean, wasn't Podz 110% committed based on his old twitter post. (but at least he stands out as a transfer who actually made a good decision)

The NCAA tried to fix a system that didn't allow the players enough control and have instead broken it even worse. Maybe the next few steps they take will correct their overcorrection. I have my doubts.

Me: raised in Urbana. The Illini are my "home town" teams.

Very difficult to take anything from players once they have been granted almost complete freedom and autonomy.
The erosion of academics, finanical scandals, and unionization might lead to changes in the exsiting system.

Clinton is a fun town. Cruised the square more than a couple times with my best friend in HS who grew up there. Had a guy on my floor in Garner who's family owned the seed supply store.
