20th BIG golf title for Illini. I think Ohio State leads with 23. I'm greedy, want more titles than Buckeyes. Can do with Coach Small at the helm. I just hope he can get out there this summer and play a !ot of competitive golf. Yes, I'm greedy. Wanted an Illini to win medalist this time. Oh, well.
No. But I remember that great 62-63 team*, Bill Small All-Big 10 guard. Could use him now. 16.9 points a game, according to archives. And Mike's brother, Andy, was a great Illini baseball player.

Tough break for Buchanan. But he will have 2-3 more tries to win that honor and I think he will do it.
Wondering where NCAA will send Illini men for a regional. Probably think they'll be doing Illini a favor by sending them to East Lansing. Illini deserve a plum assignment and good weather for a change. Doesn't really matter. Illini should emerge from any regional and make it to NCAA championship. Key word is SHOULD. But I remember last year - and so do Illini. Women to San Antonio ain't bad.

Illinois will be the #1 Seed in EL.
It'll be impossible for Coach (as long as he's Illini coach) to play in it since PGA Championship and PGA Professional Championship were moved up to May. Best bet for a Champions Tour appearance is Stricker's American Family in Madison in June, I think. Plus Illinois PGA events after the NCAA Championship.
I just discovered that former Illini Dylan Keating joined Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns for spring season. Played one or two tournaments as an individual and a couple of match play events.
Louisiana won Sun Belt Conference. Will go to a regional announced at noon today.
NIU won MAC. Regional for Huskies, too.

Did I hear that right during Golf Channel regional announcement show? Yes, I did. The talking head host pronounced Illini as Ill-in-nee. She caught herself next mention, started to say Illinnee but switched to safer Illinoy. Surprised she didn't pronounce it Illinoise. Inexcusable.

Main competition should be Florida and Texas. We beat the crap out of Texas in Augusta but Florida beat the crap out of us. I like that we get them in Michigan. Hope it's cold and rainy.
