Shrewsbury’s gonna be a problem.
Maybe. But not because he landed Certa.
Shrewsbury’s gonna be a problem.
I sometimes think a game of HORSE would be an interesting way to choose a starting five before each game.Certa would be a big lose if we were playing "HORSE"
It certainly feels like he’s getting this commitment before the bigger offers come in. I think he’ll be a better recruit than many are giving him credit for.Maybe. But not because he landed Certa.
The shifting reality of high school recruiting vs. transfer portal is that we may get him in a couple years if your convictions prove true.It certainly feels like he’s getting this commitment before the bigger offers come in. I think he’ll be a better recruit than many are giving him credit for.
Gonna?Shrewsbury’s gonna be a problem.
The way the Illini started games last season you may be right.I sometimes think a game of HORSE would be an interesting way to choose a starting five before each game.
BU seemed all in on Certa for a while... What happened with that recruitment? I'm honestly not too disappointed, especially since he won't be in the Big Ten (just in case he becomes a stud).
Those relationships matter. He’s wise to know that that may come back around. Look at QG.BU has said he will still go hard after a high school recruit even if he knows landing him is unlikely because the next time he recruits him (from the portal) he'll have established a solid relationship.

Can we give NIL to the HS kids…..only a matter of time….Those relationships matter. He’s wise to know that that may come back around. Look at QG.
Wasn’t called NIL back then. Unless that was the name of the bagmanCan we give NIL to the HS kids…..only a matter of time….
Um, that was learned a long time ago for many of us my friend. This sounds positive! Slater’s always super accurate, too.
Lesson learned: Never doubt our insiders
With last years team, you’d have to start the day before just to get a winnerI sometimes think a game of HORSE would be an interesting way to choose a starting five before each game.
I really lament the way the recruiting game has changed in the last 2-3 yearsBU has said he will still go hard after a high school recruit even if he knows landing him is unlikely because the next time he recruits him (from the portal) he'll have established a solid relationship.
So you’re saying don’t buy anything?
What’d I tell ya?!So you’re saying don’t buy anything?
It’s in my mother’s nameWhat’d I tell ya?!
Still a Chicago Fire fan from my time in Davis/Sac!What is there another Sactown Illini?? My g/f now wife used to live right by that Rosati's. How did I not know about it? Maybe it didn't exist when she was there.
Side note, just up the street is Chicago's Pizza with a Twist. I don't go there for their Chicago style though, I get their Indian-style pizzas.
And to bring the Sacramento discussion to Illini...
Coleman Hawkins grew up across the street from my cousins by marriage and were friends. Love watching him play for the O&B and wanna see one more before the NBA.
This concludes the Sacramento sidetrack of IL. Please resume your regularly scheduled harassing of "insiders."
Why would we want a terrible coach to leave? He is a ticking time bomb, and just think how atrocious he will be without HD, his son, bumpkin and othersOne last ride? Can Juwan join too?
First 5 to make a free throw at the under 4 time out could make for an effective end of game line up.I sometimes think a game of HORSE would be an interesting way to choose a starting five before each game.
Not sure that'd be enough time for 5 of our guys to make a free throw.First 5 to make a free throw at the under 4 time out could make for an effective end of game line up.
Agree.Didn't we all just live through the era where Illini fans + AD *demanded* that the admittedly average P5 bball and football coaches of the time be forced out. But then found out that the only coaches that would pick up the phone as replacements were either: using us to negotiate pay at another school or were MAC coaches with no other options.
Let's not do that again.
Josh has shown the ability to make tough calls and come up with long term plans in multiple sports. Sticking with Josh here to continue to do that. Feel no need to act as a forcing function as a fan, as much as I'd like to win a national championship in all sports every year.
