I pay for WaPo and the failing NYT. Obviously, there are ethical limits on sharing articles. However, I don't consider what I read there to be some kind of secret, member only, premium information. It's not like they own the news.

If a fan has the extra time and pocket change; there are plenty of reasons to subscribe to pay sites. I don't see access to privileged info being one of them. If I can't share it; I don't even want to know it. That is why I know longer subscribe.
Yeah, I am mainly saying a couple of minutes later sharing info as their own. I'm not say all insiders are doing that, but a few are. If everyone was doing that, they lose business.

I'm an official member of the Turbo Team and have the Dan Flashes wardrobe to prove it, and I don't see any other confirmation of this.

A veteran PG completely opens up the offense. Passing, screening, spacing will give our shooters open looks. If we get everyone back, we are a FF contender. We will be the deepest team in the conference where we can play 11 guys with very little drop off.
JMO, having 11 guys that can play is great, in theory, but it's overrated. The really good teams go with a solid 8, MAYBE 9 if there's foul trouble. Everyone isn't going to be happy with their PT, which is ok.

well.... you need at least 5. You cant make it work with 4.
Eh? I'm saying that you don't need to be 11 deep to be a FF contender. A starting 5 with 3 off the bench is just about as deep as you need to be. It's not a line change in hockey. BU finds combinations that work, especially in the last five minutes of a game. Not going to be able to do that trying to find 11 guys PT. That just doesn't work.

so he gets 24 mpg as a Fr on a good team that was highly ranked most of the year, made a Sweet 16 despite losing their PG, and he's like nah, I'm done with this.

College basketball is getting stupid.
Might not like Omaha? There's all kinds of reasons people transfer.

NYT failing since 1851!! These fly-by-night operations never last.

These forecasters are writers. As fans we have we tend to be optimistic. However historically when was the last time our guys have been drafted in the slots writers expect? They are usually wrong and they have been selected much lower if at all. Unless they were lottery picks like Meyers who was picked as expected. I would put very little weight in what these services say. They are not intune with guys overs seas like NBA scouts and elsewhere and are generating clicks. Based on history I wouldn't count on them being correct.
I heard a breakdown recently, don't remember where. There's usually about 10 to 15 foreign players that end up going in the second round that are rarely in the mock drafts. If You're expecting they go at 45, you're cutting it close.

Exactly, I love our guys but I'd be shocked if either were drafted prior to 50 if at all. Personally I think TSJ would have a better chance of being selected.

@insiders what is your gut feeling with Mgbako?
Not an insider but it’s funny to see IU fans express their inferiority complex to KU on Twitter. They don’t feel very confident and seem to be grasping for a hand to hold during the process. Similar to the past couple weeks of our own PG recruitment. 🤪

Deadline day results in many new names in the Portal. What do you guys think of Ernest Udeh (KU) and Mac Etienne (UCLA)?

Will be some later announcements past the deadline as paperwork gets finalized. Not sure we’re looking for much past a possible CoHawk replacement and obviously a starting PG at this point.

If he leaves uncommitted … I’ll be a little surprised … It may not get out publicly and he may take another visit to make it look like a real recruitment but he’ll tell the staff he’s in …

He’s got 2 other visits booked … Talked to a member of one of those staffs … Let’s just say they weren’t happy we have him on campus right now …
Out of curiosity, for the people on other staffs, what incentive do they have showing you their cards? Or do they not know you’re a big Illini guy? Or maybe they are former Illini staff you are still close with?
