Better vertical would be nice, bit it's far down the list. The biggest issue is decision-making, though I think a competent PG would help immensely there. Also more important to improve shooting, both 3-pt and mid-range than it is to increase vertical leap. But part of that is shot selection and again a good PG would help there.

I see what the previous poster is saying about Draymond Green. Like Green, Hawk does a lot of things well ("stat sheet stuffer"). But Green was an extremely productive player at MSU. His senior year he averaged 16.2 ppg and 10.6 rebounds/game.
That's fair but Green is/was also a legitimate star player and starter on a dynasty.

3 pt shooting would be a huge add but I just don't really see it unless he drastically changes something. He's never shot over 30% from 3 in a season and is sitting at 28.1% for his career and only 63.8% from the free throw line. If he was a good free throw shooter I would have easier time buying him significantly improving his jump shot.

However, due to the length and the athleticism he doesn't need to be a scorer to have a decent NBA career coming off the bench. Simply being able to protect the rim, guard 2-5 and switch defensively, and pass the ball to shooters would be enough to have a 10 year career as a bench role player and they get paid very well these days.

I think he should embrace the dirty work, non scorer type of role instead of trying to turn himself into a scorer. Think like a skinnier version of Joakim Noah.

I'm no expert on the NBA but the only rail-thin frontcourt NBA player I can think of is Manute Bol
Rail thin is Chet Holmgren, Vic Wenbamyama, etc. I wouldn’t classify Coleman as “rail thin” anymore. He’s really lanky still but the man put on a good bit of bulk over the last couple years (and last year in particular).

I’m not at all surprised.
I watched those highlight tapes of Brandin's senior year in high school. It looked sorta like Class AA (out of 4-5 Wisconsin classes). The competition was just awful. It was impossible for me to determine if he was even worth the scholarship.

Further justification for me not being a Big 10 head coach, I guess.

Do you know that for a fact? I have no idea, but certainly could very well be that Podz eschewed overtures from BIG and other P5 schools to go somewhere he felt he’d see plenty of playing time after being buried on the Illini bench. Regardless, seems like he made right choice.

yes, he called me and gave me the 411. I said there are too many hippies in the Bay Area, he said no worries, I'm going to get a terrible hairdo to fit in. We then talked about meatball subs.

Y'all wanna complain about hair? Get a load of this.

1) Ginger
2) Started going bald quickly in mid-20's so had to start shaving my head
3) But yet, still finding a way to have grey hair pop up in my beard...so that's gonna be another losing battle soon.
When mine went I went for this look... Never out of place, easy to wash.

I've had a few tonight. Can an insider tell me out of Shannon, RayJ, and Hawkins how many they expect back next year?

I wonder how long it will take for that stereotype to die. 25 years ago, you might have sighted the rare specimen. Then things got even more expensive. If you see one today they are most likely 70+. Bad haircuts on the other hand ... lots of tech people who just don't care, or do it as a statement of personality.

That is the point. Green is a defend hard, pass first forward who doesn't look for his own shot. He is usually the 5th option. Whether or not he scored in college doesn't matter. His game evolved based on his team. In the process, he has demonstrated there is a place in the league for such players. They have to be excellent defenders and VERY smart passers - Draymond often knows where the pass is going before he receives it and one touches it. Cohawk has a long way to go on the passing acumen.
