Gotta’ double up…is Champaign really that much worse than Salt Lake?! Lol
As someone who’s lived in Champaign and now lives in SLC…the city itself? On par with Champaign. But maybe RayJ is an avid skier and it’s worth $300,000+ for him to be able to hit the mountains 😂

Salt Lake City is way better. You kidding me? There's multiple state parks within an hour of downtown, canyons to hike, waterfalls to see, Park City, Sundance Resort, better downtown area. The views alone are better.

Almost all of the things you mentioned are outside of SLC. I was commenting on “the city itself” while also jokingly stating that maybe RayJ has an outdoorsy hobby (the main reason ppl move to SLC) that is worth a lot to him. I don’t think we really disagree here

Chuck Nuggets

Dip your nuggets in my staff source sauce.
I would tell him, "son, in the grand scheme of things over the course of your life/career, $200k is meaningless." Go to the place where you can best develop your skills for life after college, whether that involves playing in the NBA, playing overseas or using your degree in a normal career."
So, Santa Clara?

Draymonds replacement?
Maybe they or someone will take a flyer on him with a two way for a year. If it doesn't work out then they cut him loose. Not a huge investment for team and good money for CH for the year.
If he stays in without some sort of commitment he could end up in G League at the minimum, or overseas.

There were better vibes on this board when we were talking about cottage cheese.
Can you blame us? We’ve been through the wringer the last couple days. 2 weeks ago it was a guaransheed we’d have RayJ by the end of the NBA combine season. Then he’s off to Utah and as of this moment we might still have a shot? Now we have posters saying they don’t want him now anyway after this?

We still need a point guard and if the best one available wants to come play here, we take him.

Hearing hes getting the bag and all the amenities that come with it.

Brad and co. understood how important this was, not just getting a + PG, but the optics of if he did indeed commit to a place like Utah for less money would be a major blow to the sack.

Unfortunately, RayJ camp knew how desperate we were as well…honestly, im not sure how legit the smoke was from the last couple days. Seems like we are going to get a PG that can set one hell of a screen.
Sounds like this season’s cause of team division

You’ll have your answer to that if RayJ does end up at Illinois and Shannon and Hawkins decide not to return. They won’t enter the same situation.

Go Illini
