yes

has to demonstrate the ability to hit mid-range shots consistently and has to make an immediate transition to high major ball. FWLIW, I think the latter is a near given. That said, 2 years is more likely than 1.
Gents, anybody can be one and done or go pro at anytime. The question is are they projected to be a first round or high second round pick. I would say with Morez current ranking in many sites he sits around 45-50, athough some site had him around 30. This isn't the range where you see the one and done, typically this range is the very good college player and potential pro after 3-4 years. There are exceptions and surprises, I believe Joe Smith(Maryland) and UCONN center from early 2000's were top 100 players.

Morez is not bouncey athletic or tall enough to be a shot blocker in the NBA so he will be have to one of those players that can hit the 3. At 6-9 can he get drafted on potential to be a PF who can stroke the 3, possibly. Will need to see how his senior year goes and transition to college. The Villanova freshmen (Whitmore) is getting drafted top 10 and doesn't fit either role I mentioned above. I've seen Morez plenty last year, there are times he reminds me of a young Chris Weber and other times a taller EJ Liddell. If EJ Liddell was 6-9 he gets drafted first round, so we will see what happens in 2-3 years.

splitter

and not Nebraska
Now if we could only get him up above 20 blocks, too.
Add 20 assists and we all might be happy.

My guess is, the negotiation is ongoing.

He added Utah in the mix to get more NIL $$$ from IL.

After getting a bigger bag offer from IL, he’s now in conversations with Baylor to see if they can match.

If Baylor matches, that increases his negotiation power with IL.

Seems like he’s leading on multiple schools to line up the most NIL dollars possible.

Is his #1 motivation in this money or going to the best place that can make him better and get to the next level?

I get it, everyone should try to maximize their income, but sometimes you question who is going for the bag and who is going for the ball.

Shannon and Coleman announcements will be first. A lot of positive buzz on both returning right now. RayJ? Who knows. Imo it's down to Illinois and Baylor. But there is someone that is lined up to come if RayJ goes elsewhere and it won't take long.
down to illinois and baylor? what happened to utah? just get yuri collins and be done with this mess.

It may just be that Baylor has a contingent offer. If Flagler returns we have nothing. If Flagler stays in the draft we have a boatload.

Whitmore is most definitely bouncy athletic...

Seems like we get him either way if this is the case. He either comes here now or he comes here after Baylor. We all know we get Baylor kids! ;)

Nailed it, dainjazoner! Yuri is smooth and a born distributor! If you have to talk someone into being here, they don't really want to be here!
Conversely, if RayJ decides to jump onboard, terrific, and I will be an avid supporter as an Illini alum here in L.A.
Yuri is a skilled playmaker with great handles who would maximize not only TS and CH, but shooters like Domask and Goode, to say nothing for what he could do for Ty and Dain.

I Guess If You Say So GIF

Me about to rebuttal you…but then…orange kool aid
My rebuttal to you my friend: Melo jacked up 18 shots per game as a freshman his only year in college. Per my post, Morez has a very good 15-18 ft. Jump shot, rebounds, Asst, steals, and blocks. If he becomes proficient in 3pt shot, he's 1 and done. By the way he is still only 17 years old.

No, we need shooters if Harris , Ty, or possibly Hawkins on the floor we need a shooting point guards. We added Domask, Quincy and guys that can shoot and we can't stop now. As a back up plan fine but we shouldnt be cocky. We need shooters.

Baylor does make a lot of sense for RayJ since its looking like Flagler won't be returning and will stay in the draft. They are a better program than us with the same sell of starting pg and have a better team around him next year if he cares a lot about winning

Baylor has lost a ton this offseason. If Shannon and Hawkins return AND Flagler stays in the draft, Illinois + RayJ is clearly a better roster than Baylor + RayJ.

Know you’re kidding, but RayJ is a super senior this year. 2 years at Boise State and 2 years Toledo. This’ll be his free COVID year
Absolutely. :) Even if he wasn’t doing his super senior year I imagine it’s his final year of college ball. Hopefully he chooses us to launch off his NBA career and credits some awesome growth as an Illini.
