You gotta admit... if Brad does stick to the Kerr turndown and rides with Ty and it works out that changes the narrative quite a bit. High risk High reward type move.

I still don’t follow the “who knows maybe it will work out” line of thinking here. Entering the season without a legitimate PG means you’re setting your ceiling at, let’s say, 7. Maybe you hit on that 7 despite it being a real long shot. Great, you dodged a 4. But if you had your PG then your floor was a 7 and you probably just whiffed on a season that should have been a 10 because before it started you accidentally shot yourself in the groin.

The other thing I don’t get, is that even if this roster totally over-performs and manages to battle through spotty and inconsistent PG play, it may be impressive, but it’s not going to a particularly fun brand of basketball to watch or follow. My god this message board is going to a raging Peshtigo fire from November to March.

I really just understand what the f is going on. There has to be something happening behind the curtain that we don't know about. Not necessarily good
Entirely possible that more is going on. But at the same time, when you wait on a guy a long time, other opportunities go away.

I will say that BU's coaching style isn't for everyone. So some just aren't going to come here. Of course if you were willing to go play for Huggins you shouldn't have a problem with BU.

Anyway, if we have a good coaching year, we'll stay off the bubble in my opinion. If not. Yowza.

Chuck Nuggets

Dip your nuggets in my staff source sauce.
It is amazing how many people on this site considered Krissa and Mcahey total dirtbags and now think either would be great on this team.
It's amazing how some people will take things one person said and attribute them to someone completely different, convincing themselves they've made something resembling a coherent point.

Any multi-year deal with third party companies would likely have buyout clauses. Let’s say School X offers $100k the first year and $200k the second with additional incentives. There might be a $75k buyout that the student would have to pay back if opting out before the second year. But that presumably wouldn’t be a problem as school Y offers $500k. It would just be like standard coaching contracts.
These agreements aren't with the schools.

You know you should get it out every time you get on here. You'll need it.

Illinois was prepared to take a chance on Jeremiah Williams as a favor to their Meanstreets peeps, but he got tangled up in the gambling controversy at Iowa State.

Justin Harmon should be okay. Haven't heard differently yet.

Look out for Texas with Kerr Kriisa. Illinois will kick the tires. Memphis, Cincinnati, Xavier, and Nebraska are schools he looked at before.

Pretty concerned if this is any indication of how the coming season is going to go. Wow! At least there’s football.
Don't worry too much, as constructed this team will be an absolute force on defense, which will always keep games close. Like Tennessee good. And Tennessee had a similar offensive ranking on kenpom as us last season, but with the top ranked defense and finished 6th on kenpom, losing in the S16 to ncaa runner-up FAU

Sean Miller isn’t coming to Illinois he doesn’t want the job.

Whitmans press conference praised Underwood and all he’s done with this program,
Whitman doesn’t measure success in the month of March.

Krissa or mulcahy won’t be coming to the Illini. They took a chance on Williams so they could have him if the gambling blew over at ISU but it didn’t. 2 open scholarships to fill.

I’d take that at this point no doubt. My concern is no pg and little time left to establish strength at that position. As a program we should not be hoping “things work out” with an experiment at that position. IMO
