The vibes are so good around this program. The bar has been raised in a very sustainable way. There is no reason we can't be one of the Big Ten West programs we have envied all these years. Coach is the man. I can't imagine a better guy for the job.
It's funny recalling the apprehension from some when he was first hired two years ago. How tunes have changed.

Not to pull the tin foil out for some of you but it's odd timing that Barna's composite ranking went down today, fairly substantially. 247's didn't change, so I'm assuming he went down or was initially ranked by one of the other recruiting services.

ME here as well, and sad to hear that the crusher is no more. But yes, Bret's recruiting will make up for the loss, I do believe.
You know... I did a bit of searching online and believe I'm wrong. They filled in the Talbot bay with lab space but the crusher appears still to be there. Makes sense.

Huge get with Barna. I hope BB can continue to pull this well consistently. Gives me some hope we can compete regularly in the top half of the conference, maybe top third. Anyway, he is obviously increasing our appeal dramatically.

I would say few not some. I think most people had enough of the failure since zooks last year if not back to the day of birth. I know ive been watching since bob blackman and I actually had the most hope for success when BB was hired. His history with lineman and running backs, the smashmouth game, and his overall game managment ive alway admired.

Yup, and as soon as we become one of the Big Ten West programs we have envied all these years the conference drops the Big Ten West.

Its been a rough 50 years

Blackman - OK -
Moeller - awful
Mike White - great - would have loved to see what he would have done with Jeff George. 1 Rose Bowl
Mackovic - great
Tepper - mediocre
Turner - good seasons then slow decline - 1 Sugar Bowl
Zook - 1 great season, others avg. - 1 Rose Bowl
Beckman - awful
Cubitt - bad
Smith - awful

We have had to fire 9 out of 10 coaches. Only Mackovic left on his own.

Bret - hit the ground running and showing good improvement. 5-7, 8-4 (excluding bowl)

Ah, I hope the crusher is still there. I'll check on it next week, I'll be visiting campus for the first time in years.

And yes, good get. Beating Wisconsin and Oklahoma for an in-state priority is a good feeling.
