That would be nice, plus we need plays that don’t take long to develop. This Purdue Dline is ok, we should be able to move the ball. Purdue had a tough time stopping sideline fade routes vs Syracuse.

Syracuse wrs dropped several passes that would have accounted for a couple more scores. Washington, Ellyz, and (drawing a blank) can expose them on the outside.

Purdue likes to hit over the middle routes on offense about 10-20 yards downfield (or attempt to). We have to make them one dimensional.
with our single deep safety this 10-20 yard over the middle route will hurt us.

That sounds reasonable. There are legal bounds to the type of care they can provide you after you stop breathing. Would hate to see hundreds of neighbor ladies go to jail for uhhhhhhh pounding on a no longer orange and just blue corpse. Happy birthday!
I am not legally bound by the actions of my NL Harem , now or in the future..................I hope they accept my demise whenever that happens and for us to live heartily every minute until that situation arises.....I have left the bulk of my estate to said Harem for their benefit and future lives as they have earned that bulk numerous days of our relationship over and over again..........

Thank you for your concern to my NL's and will be duly noted.........

I cannot describe how ecstatic this would make me, haha ... but for some reason I am envisioning one of two outcomes:

1. We bring the D we did to Kansas in the first half, Purdue's offense rebounds and WE lose something like 30-13 ... in which case, I fear we might be in disaster mode.

2. We take the next step in getting better and win a game similar to how we beat Wisconsin last year. Slow and methodical, minimal mistakes and just wearing them down.

Praying it's the latter, but I will take literally any type of win ... the West is there for the taking, but NOT if you lose at Purdue.

In college football, every game is critical, but this one feels a bit like a bowl game to me. Hugely important game.

If we win, we're halfway to bowl eligibility, Bret pats Walters on the head and reassures him that he's still his daddy, and that losing to his father is not only acceptable, it's expected.

If we don't win .... hmm, not good. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth, and I will embark on a pilgrimage to Pruman's house, all the way cursing the day of my birth and wondering why the football gods hate us so.

I am hoping for a solid game with no turnovers but I have a feeling we may have one. Still I like us by 10-13pts.

I've tempered my expectations. I fear that on Sunday I may look back on Jeff Johnson's observation that "Bad (inexperienced) O-lines don't travel" and realize that this little gem of truth was the determining factor. The line has to give Luke time to set up and throw, or space and holes through which to run. The pocket seems to collapse much too often.

I've been a Direct customer for over 15 years. It's expensive, but sooooo easy. Streaming services just can't match the ease. That being said, I find myself signing up for several of them just for the same reason I just signed up for Peacock (they have a program or movie I want to watch).
Problem is I had Peacock as an free part of my Xfinity package... I didn't realize there would be games on it when I cut that cable...

Piggybacking off of my last comment ... I hate to call game 5 an absolute make-or-break game for the entire 12-game season, but it will severely affect my expectations. If we go into West Lafayette with Purdue feeling like it is playing for its season and we are able to correct our mistakes and walk out with a Big Ten road win, my goal shifts to winning the West. On the other hand, if we cannot get fired up enough to win such an essential conference game vs. a Purdue team that has had our number, has our former DC as its coach, cost us a trip to Indy last year and that the metrics say we ARE better than ... I will really start to worry, and I will probably view a 6-6 bowl berth as the "goal." And that would be disappointing.

I know those seem like two extremes, but honestly I think the West is that bad, haha. The problem is that Purdue is near the bottom, so if we have any goal of winning the division, we simply need to beat them - home or away.

Congrats and Happy Birthday. Been looking for a reason to open a decent bottle of red wine. Cool and rainy day and to raise a glass to Pru sounds like damn fine reasons to me.

My Dream game

- we establish run early and control the ball
- no Illini turnovers
