It’ll hurt them too. Listened to a Purdue beat guy talk about the linebacker play is killing them on the outside. the single deep has to come up from 20yrd deep when they miss the tackle (very frequently). Also, they can’t cover the slot receivers. We may struggle with our single deep but they are worse (apparently). I’d say if we can get some push, let’s just run the ball. Kill the clock. And hit isaiah occasionally to keep them honest.
we have been unable to sustain a drive running the football. this isnt going to get better in the big ten. 2nd and 8 just doesn't cut it. the key to last years offense was Devito taking 5-6 yard passes on first down opening up anything with 2nd and 4 or 5. now you can take a shot down the field.

I’m going the cheap route and listening to the Busey Bank Illini Sports Network radio broadcast on SiriusXM that I’m already paying for anyway in my wife’s car. Which means that around 3:15 pm eastern time I’m going to tell my nine year old son “hey go grab your shoes because you and I are driving 110 miles to Poughkeepsie to get a pie.”

you might have a free gas card or other circumstances, but 220 miles round trip would cost most people way more than what a month of Peacock costs. Just a consideration

You’re forgetting about the bridge tolls. The cost of this one trip will be at least 3x a yearly subscription. But I’m not getting sucked in by their tricky marketing scam of streaming content that I want to watch.

What channel is that on SXM and will it play through the App? I listen to SXM through my phone on the app all of the time.

Very valid and accurate. I suppose I should have prefaced my comment that the 4th quarter last week with McCray gave me some hope on the ground for the first time all year. Reggie is reliable for about 60yrds a game with a few more product ones sprinkled in. However, Josh needs to find his form if the season is to be a success. Our line isn’t great but Luke can’t do it all back there. Having a big back take chunks of yards would be a huge help. No reason to think it starts happening now other than a little hope taken at the end of the game last week. We’ll see. Trying to keep the optimism alive 😉

I’ve got a group of 5 young alumni headed over to Lafayette for the game tomorrow. I don’t think any of us have visited Purdue. Does anyone know any good spots to have a drink or 5 before kickoff?

It has been a while since I was there, but I remember a distinctive lack of decent bars. Slightly OT, but I would also like to nominate Purdue as the least attractive campus in the Big Ten.

Here in California that trip will run about $40.00.

Well, here we go. Our last shot at winning something before we shuffle off to the eternal purgatory of low- to mid-tier finishes in the Big TeNFL.

Advanced stats say we’re playing better than our final scores would suggest and that we should be able to compete for a B1G West title.

Will we?

Probably not.
