Watching tonight the Bulls have no plan for Ayo. He needs a team that will use him. I hope he can get that somehow. The Bulls are headed for mediocrity again. Ayo deserves better.

With the way the current Bulls roster is constructed, Ayo is going to have the role he has right now. He's not going to get starters minutes unless one of the guards gets hurt. He is limited in what he can do on the offensive end.

The season may be trash, but it's nice to see Ayo he recognized for his character
Last year the Dallas Illini Club organized a group for the Bulls/Mavericks game. The Mavs allowed us to get in early and sit down by the floor to watch the pregame warmup & to cheer Ayo. He sat about 25 feet away in some chairs & never came over, never waived to us, & ignored us in a don't-give 'a' s**t attitude. It was horrible. What saved the day was Derek Harper came over & Dee Brown was there with some friends. They both posed for photos & signed autographs. The Bulls are in town again next wednesday & it looks like not so many people signed up to go. I am wondering if Ayo will pull the same stunt as last year.

He was also struggling to find his spot on the roster last year. He still will be this year. He was likely trying to get his head right for the game, and given that he's paid millions of dollars to play basketball, that's probably the right call.

It's awesome that Harper and Brown came by to say hi. What they both have in common is that neither is still playing professional basketball and don't need to get into a "get right" frame of mind.

Ayo was there to work. The only people he owes anything to before a game are his coaches, teammates, and the front office staff to convince them to keep him. He doesn't really owe you a pre-game anything unless he signed up to do an event.

Sorry but you're not allowed to think like this on this board. Ayo owes it to all the Illini fans to high five and give them autographs at every game. In all seriousness though, I still remember when one of the posters on here was complaining because the majority of starting players on the Bulls and Mavs roster were sitting out that game in Dallas last year even though it was an end of season game and neither team had anything to play for. Which any NBA fan will tell you is a distinct possibility for those late season games in those situations.

I absolutely hate what the Bulls are doing to Ayo. Why sign him and then bury him on the bench? The whole organization is such a trainwreck.

Uh...have you seen how deep the Bulls bench is this year? If Ayo had better point guard skills (which he doesn't), he'd be starting over Coby White. If he could shoot the 3 at all (he can't), he'd be getting more playing time off the bench. With the way the Bulls roster is currently constructed, he's basically at the ceiling of where he'll be.

Did you read what I said? If that's how they felt, why re-sign him? Let him go somewhere else & find a place that can use him better. I honestly believe in the right situation, he would be a solid NBA player. That's just my opinion.

As for the roster, it's a disaster. White, Levine, Vooch & Caruso are 4 of the most inconsistent players in the league. Totally disagree about the bench being deep. This team has no shot this year and there doesn't seem to be any plan going forward. Been a Bulls fan since the Reggie Theus/Artis Gilmore days on WGN, but I'm about done. Just an awful organization.

Your first question can be best answered by this article by K.C. Johnson shortly after free agency started this summer: https://www.nbcsportschicago.com/nb...yo-dosunmu-is-smart-business-by-bulls/496417/

I'd agree with you to a certain extent on 3 of the 4 players you mentioned but they're far from the most inconsistent players in the league. Caruso is not on the roster as a scorer. He's on this team because he's one of the best defenders in the league and makes a lot of the hustle plays for the team. If he scores, that's great. But that's not his sole purpose for being on the rosters. The Bulls have no shot this year but it's not because they're a bad organization. They have no shot because of the quality of teams in the league, especially the one roughly 90 minutes north of them.

Not to be that guy…but did Ayo get much interest elsewhere?
Actually yeah. The Raptors were definitely in pursuit in the off-season. I actually thought that's where he'd end up. I think he got more $$ with the Bulls but think the Raptors would have given him a better opportunity. The Pistons and the Hornets were also interested.

You are right that he doesnt owe anything to the people that buy his jerseys, pay for his autograph at signings(nice "AD" for $70), & spend $80+ for a ticket to watch him play a few minutes. He certainly can text on his phone and ignore whoever he wants. My bad.

The entitlement mentality of certain fans is always something. If I could use one word to describe fans like this it would be...

If someone comes up to me wanting to chit-chat while I'm pre-gaming for a big presentation, they're going to get the cold shoulder as well. The guy's there to do a job first, cater to fans second.
