Big XII generally has more athletic players than the Big Ten. I think there will be a lot of teams that leave their athletic, albeit probably physically weaker big, 1 on 1 with Hunter. I think they’ll make him prove that he can score over the athleticism, while allowing perimeter defenders to stay 1 on 1 with shooters.
I think both teams played hard, but Kansas did 2 things that really hurt us that they didn’t truly stick with like I think they would have in a regular game.
The pick and roll with KJ short rolling and sliding the big to the strong side dunker spot, leaving the 2 on 1 with KJ/Hunter and our big defender was open every time. They also went to their high low stuff and were open a couple times. In a real game I bet Bill Self is calling that until we stop it.
Also in a real game, a team is gonna execute and you’re gonna give up some buckets because of it. So would we have been able to adjust properly is the question. With BU’s history and our experience, I’d say probably. Overall, a good, fun game to watch.
