I’m pissed off man. Trying to be as sensitive as possible to the situation but man it seems like the way Kansas Law has handled this is a complete joke
I tend to agree that the University doesn't want to look soft on crime, even if every bone in their body tells them that TSJ should not be charged with rape. I could see them maintaining the suspension for now and waiting until some "new information" comes in and then lifting the suspension. Though, in the other thread, someone mentioned that the accuser had done this before (obviously, I have NO idea if this is true, and even then, it does not mean nothing happened).I would be shocked if the panel overrides the suspension. But it does seem possible that as the University/DIA get access to more evidence, they might eventually determine a misdemeanor is worst case and penalize appropriately.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for probably my first laugh in 24 hours.Brad Underwood, Coleman and Loren Tate
He can't exactly go around condoning athletes engaging in sexual activity in public, but he didn't seem to condemn him for it either.Maybe I'm too "glass half full", but he referred to the University having no tolerance for sexual abuse of any kind at least twice. Which makes me think he thinks the incident in the bar IS something the University has to distance itself from. But, again, just my opinion.
Agreed. I didn't get the feel that he was disgusted by this. What standard are they setting for these young men?He can't exactly go around condoning athletes engaging in sexual activity in public, but he didn't seem to condemn him for it either.
The clock would usually start the next business day. If the suspension came down at 4:30 pm, it likely would not have to happen within 24.5 hours.Yes I am correct. And the business day calendar (if it is business days) started yesterday, not as of the press conference.
Thank you, I meant that the decision the panel reaches cannot be appealed or reversed by others. It's not final. It's indefinite.
Anyone with half a brain should have been able to determine this. Makes sense to me!! But I did not know Loren taught at the law school. Quite a surprise. But it must be true as it was posted on the Loyalty Message Board....am I right?Brad Underwood, Coleman and Loren Tate
I think this is my takeaway as well, especially since there doesn't seem to be anything new that the DIA would have learned about since the suspension was first announced yesterday. Unless TJ or a representative for him is allowed to make a case in front of the DIA for reinstatement.I would be shocked if the panel overrides the suspension. But it does seem possible that as the University/DIA get access to more evidence, they might eventually determine a misdemeanor is worst case and penalize appropriately.
Absolutely the man for the jobI'm glad Josh Whitman is our AD.
Goodness, yes. Can you imagine Mike Thomas at the helm this evening?I'm glad Josh Whitman is our AD.
New information can cause the panel to reconveneJosh Whitman stated that Terrence can play if there is a resolution to the legal process or the 3 person DIA panel votes to reinstate him before the legal process finishes. His status is on life support, but not dead yet - my words, not his.
Josh also stated that the panel is determinary, not advisory. Neither he the AD nor Robert Jones the Chancellor can overrule it, and whatever decision it makes is final.
That was the exact thought going through my head when I posted that. Thank goodness we have Josh's steady hand over that disaster. Can you imagine Mike Thomas at the helm this evening?
