One question that was not answered - what is the standard to be applied by conduct panel in determining the course of action (i.e. are they a fact-finding panel or do the base their decision of the nature of the allegations made basically assuming they are true). Assume the answer is the mostly the later, where they put the interests and image of the university before that of the athlete.

I don’t know if it’s my own biases, but this did not sound like a man who thinks TSJ is guilty, and honestly seems pissed off that it’s gotten this far. I didn’t hear a single negative word about TSJ, didn’t hear the word victim, and we got a lot of info about how the panel works and makes decisions. I’ve gone from thinking TJ will never suit up again to “it’s not unlikely.”

I feel the same way and it seems nobody else felt he should be in trouble either

Josh Whitman stated that Terrence can play if there is a resolution to the legal process or the 3 person DIA panel votes to reinstate him before the legal process finishes. His status is on life support, but not dead yet - my words, not his.

Josh also stated that the panel is determinary, not advisory. Neither he the AD nor Robert Jones the Chancellor can overrule it, and whatever decision it makes is final.

It's not a DIA panel. It's actually an independent 3-person panel consisting of a faculty member from the Law School and two others.

Maybe I'm too "glass half full", but he referred to the University having no tolerance for sexual abuse of any kind at least twice. Which makes me think he thinks the incident in the bar IS something the University has to distance itself from. But, again, just my opinion.

Starting to think that weird random tweet had some validity.

I’m saying it. This “me too” movement has gone too far. Unfortunately I’ve seen this happen to clients of mine and have been called to the stands because of nonsense like this. The accusers have complete immunity.

It wasn't a random tweet. It just happened to be a random person who was the first to tweet that image publicly. They aren't the source, at least if I guessed.

I would be shocked if the panel overrides the suspension. But it does seem possible that as the University/DIA get access to more evidence, they might eventually determine a misdemeanor is worst case and penalize appropriately.

This is something I've been wondering as well. Best I can come up with is that it takes time to get in front of a judge to make the case for a warrant. Idk if 3 weeks is a normal time frame, so maybe some of the attorneys on this sub can chime in. There is also the apparent icy relationship between the Douglas County DA and local judges, so maybe that played some role in the delay in issuing a warrant... pure speculation obviously.. crazy times.
