I guess I just don't understand how they can reinstate him without some kind of public information about the situation becoming available that makes it clear they aren't sweeping it under the rug. Bringing him back with no other facts risks a major backlash nationally.
Contrarian take:
Social/cultural paradigms shift. For the last 15-20 years, we’ve moved in SUCH a “pro-‘victim’” direction on this sort of thing that people could be forgiven for thinking our society practically promotes a guilty-until-proven-innocent dogmatic creed when it comes to sexual assault allegations.
… So. IF this case is as flimsy as it seems and the DA is as sketchy as she seems and our previous impression of Terrence as an awesome kid is still true and our culture needs a bit of a “correction” back toward this country’s sacred truth that a person is innocent until proven guilty…
There just might be GOOD PR in having Shannon’s back and not cowering before a witch-hunt based on shoddy evidence. Josh wouldn’t stand firmly in his corner with a charge out there unless he REALLY had a good reason to do so … so if he does, I trust him.
Let’s remember that if this is indeed a BS allegation, this woman and/or DA is doing horrible harm to the cause of finding justice for sexual assault victims. Again, assuming TSJ is innocent until there’s clear evidence to the contrary and assuming this case is as weak as the EVIDENCE so far suggests it is … I, for one, will be extremely proud of the DIA for having the cajones to let an innocent college kid keep playing a sport he loves while he’s still an innocent American citizen with full legal rights.
Again … it’ll get us some negative publicity, but I think you underestimate how many people would view it as doing what’s right in the face of a delusional mob.
