Wasn’t able to watch this one. What the hell happened? God I !!!!ing hate Maryland
This wasn't a train wreck???????Bud DGL has played sparingly all season long and there’s a reason for that. Putting him in today would’ve been a train wreck. As far as Moretti, the kid has never played in a big ten game before. They’ve got to ease him in. Today wasn’t a day to do that
Why can we not play well against Maryland? Why? WHY?
Finally. These 6 need to feel the heat and we desperately need the energy.Brad will look to play DGL/Nico after today
Yep. I don’t feel like it’s whining to suggest we are not the same caliber team without our best player.Withoutt Shannon every game is going to be a battle
Teams wittth players like Julian Reese are going to presenttt a major challenge.
problem is.. talk about bad defense.Brad will look to play DGL/Nico after today
It was almost comical the way shots refused to fall. They just need to put this one behind them and get ready for the next game.Parade of terribles today.
Couldn’t make a layup. Probably had at least 6
Spin out.
Lots of long rebounds/funky bounces that always seemed to find MD.
Two guys who have shot a combined like 13 % from 3 each make one.
A couple of tough foul calls on Coleman towards the end of the game.
And we bring our D effort on defense.
They just have our number. Think we will bounce back. I’m sure guys were exhausted after a hard fought game Thursday and I’m sure an emotionally exhausting hearing on Friday.
First bad loss of the year and think they will figure it out and it will wind up being quad 2.
MANY many stupid post game comments . . .Can’t wait for all the overreactions
8 out of the top 10 teams lost this week..
Our experienced guys were struggling with the pick and roll. Two freshmen would have really had trouble. When you’re not scoring, you better stop the other guy.problem is.. talk about bad defense.
We shot 9-40 in the second half, our rim was the diameter of Fran McCaffery's sphincter when we're beating Iowa by 20, MD owned us in the paint, and yet it was a one-possession game with 1:09 remaining. Turnovers roughly even, rebounds even, better from three, got to the line a great deal more than they did until the final minute. @Retro62 kept commenting that he couldn't believe we were losing to this inferior team at home. They trailed Michigan by a dozen at home in the first half on Thursday. Michigan! At home!MANY many stupid post game comments . . .
DeletedIt’s classic loyalty and not surprising whatsoever but the overreactions are awesome
him being suspended has cost us at least 2 games , maybe 1 or 2 more in the next 2 weeksI’ll say it again. The loss of TSJ hurts. It’s not an excuse, it’s reality. Can’t really depend on a 7 man rotation night in and night out in the B1G. Will have nights like this when one is in foul trouble and a lot of the rotation has trouble shooting.
He says anything else, it's not good for the team, and some on here would complain about whining. In his post game, Underwood says he 'doesn't believe in fatigue. And never has.
I was fomulating this same reply in my head. He implies that we should be saying "yeah, tough loss to a good team on the road, get 'em next time."Not picking on you specifically. But let me ask, what is an acceptable reaction to this loss? Is the season over, no. Is it unacceptable to dissect what happened during a loss to a bottom half B10 team who has, up until today, struggled mightily on the road? Is it unacceptable to question if some things had been done differently that it could have maybe prevented a bad loss? Don't you think the coaches and players are probably doing that same thing? That's also what fans do. The shock and surprise at fans being fans is what, to me, is truly awesome.
Agree with your assessment but disagree with “we’re gonna be fine”. I guess “fine” is relative but I think we’re going to probe for what our bottom is without TSJ. We’ve peaked and I predict be bottom out around top 25.We looked good initially. Goode was playing lights out.
But we shot awful on open 3s, started to make some atrocious interior turnovers on passes that never had a chance (a pattern that continued for most of the night, never figured out how to stop Old Man Young on floaters in the paint, and like others observed, two incredibly phantom calls on our glue guy to foul him out...
What a dumpster fire game, I'm in line with what EO said about a tired team coming off of a really intense week emotionally and physically.
We're going to be fine.
I prefer this one today.
Props to you. You're on the Loyalty postgame thread. In the wake of a loss like this one, impulse control and stoicism are scarce resources.A very frustrating loss, but we move on. Nothing worse than watching the game at a birthday party, but have to keep a brave and happy face on for everyone else who doesn’t understand. It took every ounce of me not to flip the beautiful dessert table.
I nominate this for Loyalty Hall of Fame quote list...thx Altgeld, I needed that laugh! We shot 9-40 in the second half, our rim was the diameter of Fran McCaffery's sphincter when we're beating Iowa by 20, MD owned us in the paint, and yet it was a one-possession game with 1:09 remaining. Just a bad half of basketball for us and still we could have pulled it out. That's my postgame cold take. And I flew off the handle when I saw Reese turn around to pursue T.A. in the line b/c I assumed, being the predictable DB that he is, he was the instigator. Apparently not, much to TA's discredit.
Put it behind us, go to Michigan and take care of business, come home and beat Rutgers. It's a long season.
