Maryland 76, Illinois 67 Postgame

Friendly reminder that FAU lost to Bryant, FGCU, and Charlotte.
These games happen unfortunately
We're not the only ones to fall victim to an upset last week. Doesn't make it sting any less but we weren't alone.

And let's give Maryland some credit. They came into our house and punked us in the paint. They played a damn good game on the road against a top 10 team. Sometimes for whatever reason a team just has your number. Maryland has always been a matchup problem for us.

For once it wasn’t Scott that punked the Illini. That dude always had career games against us.

I wonder how much sitting through a teammate’s contentious court session where one’s university representatives were not only not supporting, but were agressively arguing and fighting tooth and nail to keep your teammate and brother from playing with you affected each of these guys. Just listening to that lack of support has to make someone question whether he wants to play/fight that hard for this school. I know the buzz word FamILLy is Bielema’s, but it seems to be the opposite of what is going on here. One’s family is supposed to fight FOR its members, not AGAINST them. This has to take a toll and be both mentally and physically fatiguing for everyone, and it could definitely be partly responsible for these guys’ poor play and Coach Anderson’s especially emotional behavior yesterday…
I cannot agree more with your take. It is stunning how the same facial expressions on those players who attended TSJ's court appearance were again on display during the Maryland game.

I didn’t like her antics in the NC game, but I would have been really surprised and maybe just a bit disappointed if she didn’t repeat it at the ESPYs. Any “damage” the original gesture might have caused is over with. Lean into it. In for a penny in for a pound.
Caitlin Clark is doing just fine, last time I checked.
