It's wild that we are most likely within a day of a major commitment and there is very little buzz here around it. Huge change from 5 or 10 years ago. Portal and NIL have changed things greatly.

Tomorrow goes as planned and we have our second win of the week. Let’s keep chopping wood boys!!!
Also, consistent high level program success has. I think most of us just know Brad and the Boys are going to bring in studs and we don’t need to fret over every single recruit whereas with Weber and Groce we always were waiting for that one savior to get us back to a 20 win season… that’s the floor now so it’s easy to enjoy the commits as they come and shrug off the misses.
From a Illini fan’s pov he belongs. If I am him, I’m either thinking about how much I have to work hard and how much can I grow here (if I am thinking I am bound for the NBA) or I am thinking I have four years of college ball and I want playing time. Illinois is a tough spot for him if he is looking for the latter, and that’s not a knock oh him at all. We are just a very good program.

Definitely. I can possibly relate as my daughter is going through the process, albeit for a different sport. She (or any athlete) has to ascertain where immediate access to playing time falls on the priority list. Chasing a spot with a top Division I program may require lots of sitting while developing. If he falls into that category, I trust he and Kendall have his priorities sorted very well.
As a selfish fan, I want him to be willing to sit a bit while wearing orange and blue.
He already teased this earlier in the week, and our insider posters have confirmed their confidence, but boy it feels nice to see affirmation.
