It was a Naperville article. Metea Valley is right outside Naperville. Most of the highlights were for the losing team. This was their local news. Also note that the dunk, block, layup sequence was in the final minute of, what was at the time, a one possession game. JJ came up big when it mattered.

Exactly, Metea Valley is the school from our coverage area and the reason we filmed the game. Also, Metea is no slouch, they have two skilled players with plenty of D-1 interest, one is 6'6 and the other 6'9 and they are doubling Jakstys most of the night. On offense, Yorkville used him often as a decoy to draw attention most of the game, leaving other guys open to drive or get open looks. They had five players score in double digits, largely because of the attention drawn by Jakstys. And then as @Emerson Bigguns mentioned, he sealed the game by making huge plays on both ends in the final minute.
As the one who was at the game, I clearly agree he needs to get stronger as does everyone who has ever watched him play. I think he looks athletic enough and has a good nose for the ball. Every rebound he wanted, he went and got, especially on the offensive glass. There weren't a ton of defensive rebound chances since he was covering Jake Nosek, who is a 6'9 guy that shoots really well on the perimeter. With the double teams, I thought he might try to shoot from the outside a little bit more, but he never really did.
For those talking about a salary cap as a solution for NIL excesses, you do realize the NBA salary cap only applies to the contract between the team and the player. The player is free to go out and make whatever additional money he can through endorsements, appearances and the use of his name, image and likeness. Imposing a salary cap will do nothing to limit the amount of money a college player can earn on the side.
Not a lot of wasted neck length there.Here's a highlight from a recent Jason Jakstys game against Metea Valley. He was doubled for a lot of the game but made several key plays down the stretch to help Yorkville hang on for the win.
Obviously needs to put on muscle but you can see the length and he has good hands.

Things are a bit different but we still have those kids, look at Coleman, Damonte, Trent. I'm guessing Ty and Luke will also be in the 4 year development category when all is said and done.
IMO the days of an entire team coming up and playing together and then becoming elite their junior and senior seasons is over. Especially with how recruiting is, can't afford to have many rebuilding seasons in a row.
The secret to success in this era will be having a smaller core of young guys who absolutely have a "bought in" mindset, develop through the years, and surrounding them with experienced difference makers in the portal each year to stay in the T25. Important part is bringing in the transfer guys that can also teach good habits and contribute to the team culture for the young guys (where Brad really did fail last year and corrected this year).
Things will normalize a bit and shift back a little to HS recruiting when the super Senior COVID guys finish out their eligibiliy, but I think Brad has found the sauce for how to keep a relevant team year in and year out.
Focusing on one and done guys as the main path to success is out and honestly that's good news for a program like us.
