We didn't have Shannon last game. Will he guard Young? We need to either slow Young or Reese down.
I think BU challenges TSJ to turn Young's water off and don't worry about scoring. At least, that's what I would do as I feel that's our best shot at winning. But the other guard (Harris Smith I think) could feast on MD, LG, and JH; he's been heating up the last few games and those guys are at best below avg defenders. JMO. Also, gotta slow down Reese way more than we did in the first game.

For folks who use the Fox Sports app, are you generally able to access the replays for games on Fox (to be clear, I do mean Fox, not FS1) via the Fox Sports app?

The question sounds silly, but I was never able to watch the Indiana game a few weeks back--which was on Fox--because the replay wasn't listed on the app that night ~5 hours after the game had ended. Replays for other games that had started after Illinois' were on there. Had an obligation during Illinois/Indiana, so avoided spoilers all day only to get home and find it wasn't available. Have another event during this Saturday's game and hoping I don't run into the same problem...

I think I speak for those of us who live in the DC area when I say I want this one so badly I can taste it.
My buddy who played for the Terps decades ago just sent me this from the MD ticket office. Makes me triple down on my Tuesday night sentiment above.

Are they gonna go balls out on stopping Young? He's the one real threat to go nuts and keep them competitive in a low scoring game. It was just too darn easy for him last game.
Young is going to get his points. Have to expect that. Our issue is that last game with them, Reece went off and we continually got burned with the same back cuts in the paint. We got outscored 52-26 in the paint. That's where that game was lost. That can't happen again(obviously).

TSJ significantly improves the ceiling on our defense, expands our fast break, gives us 4th deadeye 3 point shooter, and is only player besides Marcus who can create their how shot. It has taken him a few games but he is rounding back into form. Great defensive effort vs Nebraska (even if it did not show in box score) and great offensive effort vs Michigan. Its been frustrating with MSU loss but I think we are getting close to pre-suspension form with added confidence from Marcus bootyball, Quincy double double machine, and Harmon 3 point ace.

There will be more people than there were last night, but it still is not going to be anything like MSU this past weekend
They "announced" 15k last night in that 19k arena. lol. Couldn't have been more then 7k.

Sure hope that's not the reason. Harmon is an asset IMO.
Yes but he made one bad play then immediately the next possession tried to throw a bounce pass to Dain between 2 defenders. Brad yaked him for all one one minute before Brad put him back in.

I don't want to disagree with BU, but I think the most devastating open court player in college basketball ought to be leaking out on the break at every opportunity rather than staying back to crash the boards on an already great rebounding team.
Yeah, IMO the last thing we need is for TSJ to get a rebound only to roll an ankle landing on another player's foot. We have plenty of other players who can rebound.

IDK, I trust everything you (and other insiders) say. But, for some reason they have our number. We have to beat them with no mercy (20 point win), we don't need to be their !!!!! anymore

We were 8th in the country defensively this year before TJ was out and that was with the switching everything style....
We also played our weakest schedule of the season during that time, so not sure our 8 rating was indicative of scheme vs talent disparity.

Pre-Suspension
Quad 1: 1-2
Quad 2: 1-0
Quad 3: 3-0
Quad 4: 5-0

8 of 11 Quad 3/4 games were played pre-suspension.

Post-Suspension
Quad 1: 2-3
Quad 2: 3-1
Quad 3: 3-0
Quad 4: 0-0

Yea but most other top teams were also playing the weakest parts of their schedule. That's just the way it is early season for everyone.

The non-con strength of schedule can vary drastically from team to team. Regardless, it can be argued that the switching defense excels at shutting down heavily mismatched teams vs teams with more comparable talent level.

On a practical level it makes sense because the Quad 3 and 4 teams were unable to switch us into a disadvantage because we had a talent advantage at every position in those games. The better teams were able to exploit us switching by finding those select advantageous matchups which is exactly what we’ve seen in our losses.

Actually think this game was more about offense than defense. Reese was 8/16 and Young was 11/24. We were 21/64 and 6/22 from 3. TJ would have made a huge difference on fast break points which would have had a significant effect on our percentage. Marcus was 9/19 with 5 TO’s. They are a good defensive team (Kenpom #5 adjD).
