Yup ... Told my father the same exact thing ...

Under 2 minutes ... Need a bucket ... Not gonna get more wide open ... That has to be points ...
Other than the one that slipped out of Domasks hands that lead to the Gillis 3 Domask played very well the second half. He set up Harmon perfectly and I thought Justin was gonna hit that look at a key moment in the game. Domask, TSJ, Harmon, and Hawkins have shot threes well in B10 play but tonight they didn't hit a single one. Only Quincy and Goode did and that was not good. The looks they took were ok just missed.

Don’t like that Illinois doesn’t protect home court

Why did Goode play the last 5 minutes? Reminded of the mich st loss with Goode playing.

Who is the best team Illinois has beat?

Wisconsin 7-9 seed
Fau 7-10 seed
Michigan st 8-9 seed
Nebraska, northwestern, Iowa?

Illinois ranked #210 in opposing team 3pt shooting %. Gonna be hard to make a run letting teams shoot 3s at will. Purdue went 8/10 in the 2nd half and that was all she wrote.
This stat of normally running guys off the 3 line is a staple of BUs time here. This year just flies in the face of that. Tell me we’re not really being defensively coached by Hamer, a glorified GA!!!?! Please tell me Chester and Brad really control the defense! Please!

Nah ... That was a big shot ...

He didn't say anything to our guys ... Didn't say anything to our bench ... Turned away from everyone and did it ...

I am good with it ... You hit a shot like that ... You get to do that ...

I have known Braden and family a LONG time ... He's a good kid ... Tough as they come ... And a young man with great character ...
How dare you! 😁

He definitely had stuff to say to the crowd after the buzzer.
But like you said, he earned it.

Other than MD we played really tight down the stretch. Guys looked like the ball was on fire when it did get passed out of MD’s hands. MD is awesome but it also stagnates team ball when everyone else stands on the perimeter. That is where TY cutting is huge and could be an X factor late. Unfortunately he has to be in the game.
Not only do we stagnate when we clear the lane for MD so much, we aren't in position to rebound either.
Underwood's substitutions were mind boggling as usual. Dain, Q, Ty ???

Because we, more often than not, were able to strip the ball away from him doing that.

Yeah, I’m glad we didn’t stick with it for long…(about 2 possessions?…we got hurt both ways to be fair…that’s why they’re a #3 in the country…it’s damned if u do….and damned if u don’t)

BUT…I am glad that we weren’t totally afraid to mix it up…and keep Edey & Painter & co. guessing a little bit. I like to see that willingness going into the tourney.

Go ahead…roast away.

Driving back to Springfield now so haven't caught up on the game thread. Had amazing seats thanks to my dad's shattered spine, and that was the best atmosphere at SFC in a hot minute too. I loved that.
Win or lose, loved the crowd energy.
A couple of bad bounces, couple of potential and-1s where the ball just died on the rim and rolled off, and a couple of really goofy defensive breakdowns.
Loved Coleman attacking the rim, but they effectively shut down any looks from 3 for him.
And Purdue just could not miss from outside in the second half. That Smith three over TJ was just a an absolute stone cold dagger.
We ended up in a low possession game against an incredibly efficient offense in the second half and without getting some stops, couldn't really get in full court attack mode.
Heading to Iowa City to see us lock up 2nd place in a few days. See y'all there.
Also - @#$& Zach Edey.

I’m generally OK with this loss since Purdue is a heck of a team, but I can’t understand the defensive switch in the second half. We played it perfect in round 1. Let Edey get his but stopped everybody else. Then started doubling in round 2 and everything went south.

The second we went to Moretti and immediately gave up points ... My mind immediately went to DGL and Buck ...

DGL would have brought the fire against Purdue ... Trust me ...

Moretti doesn't have any bite defensively ... Not hating on the kid ... It just is what it is ...
I thought same thing. At least try DGL in this game. He has a lot of motivation against Purdue.

Lot to think about after tonight. Some overall thought
-Don't want to take a moral victory, pissed we lost
-Defense was way better tonight and against Wiscy. Liking where that is headed
-We just missed a lot of good looks and they made them. Just gonna happen sometimes

This team is playing very good basketball right now and can beat anyone. Beat Iowa and get ready for postseason play

Really tired of asking what the hell is Brad thinking. Once again I’m bewildered as to where Roger’s is in the second half especially the last 5 minutes. Does anyone really think a freshman center getting 4 fouls in 3 minutes and chucking up a 3 from the corner a better fit than Dainja maybe doing work underneath and drawing a 4th foul on Edey? Harmon played 21 minutes with zero points. Rogers 18 minutes with 8 points. All in the first half. No in game adjustments. Totally out coached the second half. Shannon nonexistent the second half. There’s no program I hate worse than Iowa. Not feeling very good about Saturday.

Marcus held on to the ball looking for his shot way to long in the second half.
He continued to drain the shot clock down to nothing before conceding he was not going to get a shot off and was forced to pass.

I don’t understand Brad’s end of game lineups at all. Keep the starters in. Goode should not be playing over Ty unless we definitely need a 3. And QG should be in there.
