He is giving off a little Dangerous Nights Crew vibes.

Just got home from watching Toledo win their 4th MAC Title in a row...first time since Cincinnati did it in the late 40s. Quick little sidebar before I get to my scouting report on Maddox, Jr. Coach Todd Kowalczyk is one of the best & most underrated coaches in the country. Only reason he hasn't gotten more publicity is they have struggled in the tourney and missed the NCAA tourney. UT is one of the best and most consistent mid-majors in the country. But I digress.

Regarding, Maddox, JR...dude is an absolute athletic FREAK. He was throwing down some crazy dunks in pre-game. Looked a little smaller than 6'2", but he's pretty jacked. Played very physical, good handles, great-looking shot (he was 4-8 from 3). Got a little sloppy on both ends of the floor and forced some bad shots...took a couple ill-advised beyond-NBA 3s. Don't think he'd be a star, but because of his athleticism and shooting ability, I do think his talents would translate to the B1G. And he's definitely got some swagger to his game. Feels like he could be a Harmon-type role player with a little better shot. Not sure if we're going to go after him, but feels like we could do a lot worse.
What if Justin Harmon was next year's Justin Harmon...

Honestly nobody outside the athletic office really knows what "TSJ money" is. Even if it is a ton, who cares? We're not paying it, and I highly doubt this staff is going to blow their entire NIL budget on one guy. If this year proves anything its that Underwood likes having a shelf stocked with lots of dudes with different and complimentary skill sets.
Because we don’t want to artificially inflate the market which will keep going up until we are no longer in as good of a position as we may be today

Here's what I find tobe a correct observation that I'm sure will be taken in the earnest, level-headed spirit in which it's offered:
There's a lot of Jayden Epps in AJ Storr.
Interesting. I see a young Kawhi Leonard. Good mid range game, very athletic. I would take him as transfer. However I would be less enthusiastic if he was looking for big NIL. This would be his 3rd transfer which is a red flag.

That’s fair. Haven’t watched a ton of Storr this year but I imagine he at least offers quite a bit more on the defensive end than Epps…I think it comes down to one question for the staff to answer: how coachable is AJ Storr?

Yeah, he's 6'6", so he at least can defend. Epps was under-sized and disinterested in fighting through screens.

So if I was coach and made over 4 million a year you probably clear 2.5 million after taxes. I would probably invest 200-500k into a NIL fund each year to get the player I wanted.

At some point programs are going to figure out how to funnel money into NIL accounts. If you have a good program you will make more money. I don’t see after the courts ruled the NCAA can do anything and with NIL middlemen keeps the players from getting paid directly from the NCAA.

And if you managed one of those funds you could make a killing
