I'm going to correct that. No Illinois fan will care. Not one. Did anyone think about ANY of the assistant last year during the tournament?Chester wants to be a head coach. You're not going to get that job if you don't run the offense or defense and aren't the top recruiter. Chester also didn't like that his recruits were all getting recruited over.
With Anderson, money surely can't be the only issue, as alluded to. Because, while I realize everyone in the sports world is out there milking for every penny they can get, there is no metric out there where Anderson is on Antigua's level.
Underwood has made it abundantly clear, he's going to make whatever move he thinks will lead to more wins. If that means a player leaves, he just gets another. If a coach leaves, he just gets another. I'm sure there are plenty that don't like that approach, but as long as the win total remains high, a vast majority won't care.
If we got bounced in the second round again, many fans would have wanted BU's head. That's a fact. His job is to win and given the transfer rules and NIL.....the players aren't held accountable for bailing after one year. They do what's best for them at the time. BU's job is to win taking all rules into consideration. Best players play regardless of who recruited them. No hard feelings in any direction.
