Indy or 0440 (can't remember which) said there should be no concern, however there was another insider before that seemed to have a higher level of concern.
To give both sides of the argument as I see them- he spent a year longer than his brother playing real ball and the NCAA gave his brother a hard time, but on the other hand the NCAA has been rendered practically toothless when it comes to eligibility decisions regarding player pay.

In Brad's defense, they got massive raises going to Kentucky. There was no beating those offers at the time.

Antigua took less money to go to UK at the time … And he’s told me on multiple occasions that he didn’t ever really want to leave …

There were some other circumstances that led to his departure … Wife, daughter being at UK, etc.

There’s more to the Big T situation than we previously thought … But I still think he ultimately gets cleared … May play out similarly to how his brother did last year though … It’s out of our hands at this point … He’s cleared everything on the Illinois side …

At the end of the day, major college coaching-particularly in the major revenue sports-is insanely competitive. You’re dealing with big dollars and even bigger egos. Inevitably, you’re going to clash with someone on SOMETHING. It’s the nature of the competition.

It does seem like even though Brad Underwood is not afraid to make tough decisions that he feels are in the program’s best interest, he’s also doing everything he can to ensure those on the “wrong side” of those decisions land on their feet and are not perceived in a negative light. That’s really all someone in Underwood’s position can do, and I respect him a lot for that.

You also never know when paths will cross again or when your former employee may be able to help you in a different context. In a relationships business, destroying a relationship is never a good idea.

Is he able to still practice and work with the team?

Yep … Right at $1 million per year plus retention bonuses …

Course now we got him for 900k plus retention bonuses …

Maybe that's where I'm confused. It's been three years with all that inflation and we managed to pay him less than we offered before? I mean it's definitely possible, it just seems a little odd.

And it's been said in so many of these cases, but leaving aside the merits of the case, there is absolutely no reason the NCAA's decision making process has to drag on for so long in these cases, it's absurd.

It would be a shock if Ivisic were declared eligible in time for the beginning of the season, that's just the reality.

And this really might be the case where the NCAA tries to draw a line. It being the twin brother of someone they already cleared seems perfect for the NCAA doesn't it?

Always remember the first rule of NCAA enforcement. Programs like Illinois are perfect targets for the NCAA to drop the hammer. They do not move the needle that much in terms of TV ratings and licensing revenue, but they are a big enough program to make the front page of USA Today so the NCAA can puff its chest and pay itself on the back to a national audience.

This is a little different than a cheating enforcement case of course, but yeah....

Now, a Kentucky fan would accurately point out that the NCAA ruled Enes Kanter ineligible in this kind of case way back in 2010.

The thing that stands out with Tomislav though is how old he is and how much he has played in adult pro basketball. That's NOT the standard, the standard is about the way in which he's been compensated by the team and whether it's strictly paying his expenses versus a salary. But there's a lot of inherent gray area there, and what the NCAA really wants/needs is to avoid the game being taken over by European adults.
