Not sure EXACTLY how relevant this is, but while it's always difficult to play on the road ... it's worth pointing out that these are the road crowds we have played in front of this year:
86,936 at #22 Nebraska (W 31-24 in OT) [night game]
109,911 at #9 Penn State (L 7-21) [night game]
59,830 at #1 Oregon (L 9-38)
So we have played in three of the most difficult environments in all of college football, with two of the three games being night game atmospheres and the other being vs. the best team in the country. While Oregon blew us out, we beat Nebraska and were driving with a chance to tie it vs. PSU with a couple minutes left in the game.
Rutgers is averaging about 48,000 per game, and they drew just over 44,000 for their 12:00 pm EST game vs. Minnesota two weeks ago. It is Senior Day and their fans might be a bit more excited after the win at Maryland, but hopefully this atmosphere will seem comparatively undaunting for our guys compared to what they have seen already this season!
P.S. Also kind of crazy that by this weekend, we will not have played a road game in almost a month...
