I am going to have to agree with you, we definitely are. Most talented team in the country.
He’s very high usage so he will put up counting stats, but his percentages aren’t that good.
He’s shooting 43/23/69 for the season. Sure he’s 17, but he’s already pretty filled out. His game is already very polished.
He’s not big enough to control a game from the PF/C position like Jokic is. And he doesn’t have the handle to really give him the ball and create off the dribble like taller guys such as Lebron/Durant have. So I see him as similar to Anthony Davis or Chet Holmgren. And those guys are good players, but they aren’t #1 options on an NBA team. I think whoever drafts him expecting to get the next Lebron is going to be disappointed.
NM…it was funny in my caffeine swamped head![]()
Nobody who drafts prospects expects any of them to be the next LeBron James. That's like buying a lottery ticket with the expectation that you'll hit the jackpot. He’s very high usage so he will put up counting stats, but his percentages aren’t that good.

Same. Top floor of the Cosmo for hoops and hops! Place was insane!I was in Vegas during this game. It was an incredible experience. Chaos all over the place.
Likewise. Sitting at the bar at Wahlburgers. Game was great, the food overrated.I was in Vegas during this game. It was an incredible experience. Chaos all over the place.
Anthony Davis is not a #1 option on his team? He literally leads the Lakers in points per game and shots per game this year. And comparing Anthony Davis to Chet Holmgren is... something. Anthony Davis is a 9 time All Star.
I don't know of anyone who expects Cooper Flagg to be a top 3 player of all-time (Lebron's level). The odds of Cooper Flagg being an NBA All-Star are pretty damn high for a 17 year old kid. No 17 year old kid's game is anywhere near close to a finished product. If you think his game is already very polished, that's because he's insanely good and has an incredibly high ceiling.
I think it's absolutely comical how many people on here think they know basketball and potential development of teenage kids and young adults better than NBA scouts and GMs. And even those guys get it wrong at an incredibly high rate. But yeah, if some Oracle on a message board says whoever drafts him is going to be disappointed...
I'll trust Sam Vecenie's analysis:
"Where Flagg has been most impressive is in his shot creation from the midrange. NBA scouts know Flagg is a terrific defender with tremendous instincts on that end. They know he’s wildly competitive and willing to play in whatever manner he needs to win. They also know he’s a sneaky sharp passer and an elite transition player."
By the way, Vecenie has Demin at #2 and KJ at #5 on his big board.
It’s amazing what a true rim protector can do with a winning percentage of a program.Yes, Purdue getting punked right now
