UNC fans really want Matt Campbell from Iowa State.
So a 10-win season and Matt Campbell is suddenly the next candidate for many openings again. Rumors and the media are fun, aren’t they?

Campbell isn’t leaving Iowa State anytime soon. He really enjoys Ames and knows if he wins 8-10 games a year he basically has a job for as long as he wants it. It’s a very similar situation to Bielema’s situation at Illinois, and Campbell knows what he has.

Some pretty huge differences. 10 year age gap is first. Second,Bielema took his shot at SEC and failed. Campbell hasn't had that.

He's not likely winning a national title at ISU. I'd be shocked if he didn't take an opportunity that would provide that.

North Carolina obviously isn't one.

Ohio State job probably (if it opened up, which doesn't seem likely this year)
What meant failed say is in what world did Campbell leave ISU to go to UNC. But you are correct there are certainly jobs out there that Campbell would leave for.

Barry Odom is a great pickup for Purdue. Anyone that can win at UNLV should at least get Purdue back to a respectable level.

The Ryan Walters experiment probably ended anyone getting a Power 5 HC job directly from outside assistant level

I find it interesting that Purdue known primarily for their offense have went with a defensive head coach on back to back hires.

I live in Vegas, and got to watch this team quite a bit. This coach turned a horrible team that was over under 3 games this year, ends up in the conference game and ranked. Purdue might be on an Indiana turnaround next year if some of those kids transfer. Point of interest is this story. How will it affect his NIL recruiting at Purdon't

Very true. I should have been more clear that I don’t think there is any way he leaves Iowa State for a move like UNC. But, as an Ohio native, he’d very likely be high on the list if/when Day is gone.

I just think the list of jobs Campbell would consider is a lot smaller than the list of a stereotypical successful coach at a program like Iowa State.

I'm sad Purdue hired that well. I don't know if it works, but there's basically no learning curve he has to go through, first. He can do well there, unfortunately.

The Belichek thing strikes me as the same motivation that drove Rogers to the Jets: they both watched Brady take his ball elsewhere and prove that he was the key to the whole thing working, and they wanted to prove they can do it too. But they're just proving they aren't Tom Brady. I can hate that Brady guy but he really is the absolute g.o.a.t.

My expectation will be for Belichek to fail at UNC, if he goes there.
