It takes a LOT for programs like Kansas to finally be considered as just not very good. I get that there is not a dominant team in college basketball this year, but even by those standards I was not sold on KU at all heading into this season.
I flipped over to the BYU-Arizona State game during the Illini halftime. BYU up 23-10 in the 1st half. I'm sure Danny's little brother is about ready to have a stroke by now.
I believe that Kansas ranking is solely based on their collection of “talents “.

Their talents and Bill Self's reputation. Pretty much nothing else.
As Indiana fans are likely realizing, having a fantastic collection of talent doesn’t guarantee anything.
And beating Duke, Michigan State, and North Carolina but nothing else.

Hunter has to be the most overrated player in college basketball history. Repeatedly hurts his team with stupid plays and actions. Him combined with Storr is a burning wheat field.
MSU and UNC are not very good.
Wow Marquette all over Providence... Big East is just not good outside the top two teams.
UNC sure. MSU is a top 25 team in every metric. I'll be surprised if they don't finish top 4 in our conference.

AJ Storr's record of playing for a new team every year in high school and college is the thing that always bothered me about our program's attempt to recruit AJ Storr this past Spring. That recruitment always seemed like a very poorly thought-out one. I am not picking on the kid, Storr. It's our coaching staff's judgement that really bothered me. That's not an every day guy.
Michigan State is really good.
For me it wasn't just that he's a mercenary, but that the stats to me were more "somebody on the team has to score the points and it was him" than actual talent.
Based off of what? Beating UNC in OT and a bunch of cupcakes. They haven’t proved anything yet.

20th in Kenpom. Played Kansas & Memphis very well. No bad losses. Stomped Nebraska. + just the eye test if that matters anymore. Could definitely win the league and should have a real chance at a double bye. Just my opinion

They also beat Nebraska by 37 points. Nebraska is better than Arkansas, Missouri, and Northwestern.
