If Ben and Riley both come back next year:

DGL
Boswell
Tre
Riley
Ben
Ivisic
Morez
Davis
Booth

1-2 high impact transfers makes next year’s team very good again (of course, we’ll likely have 1-2 transfers out as well).
so we're just assuming all those others are back too?

Wonder if we can find enough NIL/minutes to make everybody happy. (Unlikely)

I have to believe we will have another rim protector after an insider’s comments earlier. I believe from overseas but I also believe that we get the Ivisic brother, big Z transferring in to play with his twin and to play under big O.

AWWW you're hurt because boozing it up on campus was the most important aspect of your U of I history? Maybe they should open a blog for y'all to go through all the times you barfed or didn't make it to class because you were too hung over?

Basketball recruiting should be reserved for RECRUITING...go reminisce elsewhere....

BTW name is sure appropriate...

No, at the end I mentioned that we’ll likely have 1-2 transfers out. Just not sure who.

Only mentioned Ben & Riley specifically because coming into the year many of assumed they wouldn’t be on next year’s team, but with Ben potentially getting an extra year and Riley struggling, there’s a world where both return.

Is this a pipe dream or are their rumblings?

Keystone Light was my staple in college. On occasion, I’d feel like a big shot and order Dos Equis at the bar (while all the other big shots were ordering Heineken).

Today, my beers of choice are Voodoo Ranger Imperial IPA and Dragon’s Milk (bourbon barrel stout). I will mix it up with a variety of craft beers as needed.
You Got This Dos Equis GIF

Yeah, I've harped on this before so, apologies if I sound like a broken record. But it's not about assuming everyone comes back. It's about doing the things within your power as a coaching staff to bring as many back as you can (so long as you actually want them back) because continuity is like compound interest on an investment.

Coaches have a ton of influence over whether a player transfers or not. So, there's no reason to think they won't use that influence to try to get guys to run back what is shaping up to be a special year.

How many years do you think Humrichous gets to play? Pretty sure he played 3 years of NAIA ball, a year in Evansville and this is year 5.

I don’t know for sure.

From what I understand (and I could be completely wrong), his time at the NAIA no longer counts towards eligibility.

But—this is currently a one year thing, so it would be one extra year of eligibility while it works its way through the courts. If NAIA officially never counts again against eligibility, then I believe he would have 3 more years.

Again though, I’m definitely not an expert.

Imo. The coaches recruited current team with a 2 year plan. No guarantees with NIL but as good as 24-25 team can be, the 25-26 team can be better. Good regular season in 25-26 could be a bus ride path to FF in Indy.

Can’t do anything about it but concerning that insider has made comments about Morez minutes

Agree 100% and hopefully it is obvious I was being sarcastic.

I never understand the "stick to the topic" posts. If there were recruiting news, someone would post it. The choice is not "beer talk vs. recruiting news" but "beer talk vs. 🦗"
Yeah, the self-appointed topic police 👮‍♂️
are one of the more ridiculous recurrent themes on this site. IMO it always comes across as either:

Wow, what an entitled, self-important grump (1) or wow, what a hypocrite. (2)

Type 1: You realize there is a finite amount of ‘ cruitin’ news involving Illini Sports right? Is it really that hard to filter out things you don’t like? It’s a free site. It takes a lot of nerve and a fair amount of entitlement to complain about a free site…does it not? We’ve literally had people complain about having to scroll 10-15 seconds or some such thing…!! 😂
Also, if the lag in pertinent information drives you bonkers…do you have anything to offer to the discussion?

Type 2: Seriously everybody is guilty of going off topic…like everyone. It’s impossible to even make a post complaining about going off topic…without going off topic yourself.
Then what happens is: three or four other grumps like it/high five about it/and make additional tangential posts about it…and hijack the thread with little to no, awareness or sense of irony of what they have just done.

Imo the 2 year plan included KJ but that doesn’t look promising

Just my opinion and belief.

I heard Tomi during an interview speaking about always playing with his twin and being on the same team since their youth and adjusting period for both these last two years was difficult.

Toni said that they call and even try to face time daily. Big Z loves coach O, Tomi said Z told him to come to Illinois because O is a great big man coach and person.

It is just my belief that Z transfers to play with Tomi and O.
