I get a kick out of this.

"We LET him". Yes, he wasn't scouted and we just ignored him. C'mon.....

1)The way our roster is constructed, he's just a terrible matchup for us.

2)Give credit where it's due. He got on a heater and was burying shots. People probably say the say thing about Tomi. He's a matchup nightmare.

Nobody let him do anything. As a team, they were 12/23 from three. They were unconscious. It happens, but despite it, we led wire to wire.

you are in fact reading the tea leaves incorrectly. The doghouse still exists in the NIL world. I'd imagine Tre will play Saturday as we will need some minutes from him imo.
@illini0440 - I understand this to be 2 separate statements and without any implication that Tre is in the doghouse. I assume Tre is just down due to the bug going through the team and will play when healthy enough. Correct?

I get your joke so haha and all that but we have had games where we outscored the other team for 39 minutes and then they outscored us in the last 1 minute and we lost so it is a valid concern

Next time just don't let them outscore us for the last 6 minutes, please and thank you

Well, if I'm in the silent minority I'll go ahead and speak up.

I didn't mind it. The entire point of a student section and a home crowd in general is to make the opponent a little uncomfortable and create some energy for the home team. Who cares if it hurt Skyy's feelings? That's the point!

Furthermore and importantly, nothing the Krush chanted was in bad taste. It wasn't personal. It wasn't about something that happened off the court. It wasn't about his family. It was about something basketball related - him quitting the team midway through the year.

Not being snarky here, but people's sensitivity about this might explain some of the reason why our crowd is often about as lively as a cemetery.

I am with you.. I boo d everytime he did anything with the ball think some setting near me were tired of me by games end. He is a quitter and they should have chanted that too.

I'm not for booing an 18-22 year old.

We can't complain about Crush not being loud and aggressive enough then tell them, "that was too much" for booing and heckling a guy who quit on the team.

They can affect the game and likely did. No complaints here. Kids are gonna be kids

The one and only thing I wish would have been different was the "Skyy's a traitor" chant (if that's what was said - if it wasn't "traitor" and was "quitter" instead, that's fair game). Other than that, I totally agree with you. Nothing chanted was over the line, and it was all related to basketball.

Example - had TSJ been at Michigan and they chanted something about him going to Illinois instead of Michigan, I see that as fair game. Obviously, any sort of "no means no" crap (particularly since anyone who would have objectively read the first affidavit would have seen there was no case to prosecute) was out of line and should have been stopped immediately.

There's been this general sentiment about our university and a portion of the fan base for awhile now. The tipping point occurred in 2007. Life has never been the same.

No reason to hate on these kids.
Go ahead and boo 1x or 2x and then let it go.

Same for the AIRBALL chant in the last 2 min of a decided game for someone who failed to draw iron in the first min....

Depends on the kid. I have zero regrets about booing IDKWTI when he played at Assembly Hall.

Well, my voice was extremely hoarse, so I guess I regret that part, but nothing else.

#323
Yes he did, but what do you expect from Kris Collinsworth's kid? Surely not quality announcing.
I didn't realize that was Jac Collinsworth. We talk about broadcaster nepotism here quite a bit, but Jac is clearly the "dark side" of that. Noah Eagle is the "bright side". Choppy would be about the most flattering term I could use for Jac's play by play.

I don’t have a problem with KRUSH booing with basketball related harassment. It’s kids booing kids. When my son went to Duke the Dookies were provided with handouts on what they were going to use to get at the players. He thought they took it as step too far when they researched that a player broke up with a girlfriend and the would yell her name at the player.
