If ever there was a group of seniors that deserve a tremendous crowd for their send-off, it's these. They resurrected the program, got the first NCAA bid in 20 years, won the WBIT, and are about to go back to the tourney. Doing it all through pretty darn crazy adversity. All 5 are legends of the program.
As someone who is not as up to speed with WBB, how is our women's team not ranked despite (a) their hot streak, (b) their overall record, and (c) them being ahead of multiple ranked teams in the standings?
You nailed it yet again Pru!THAT'S A WINNER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Illini women are so full of heart and effort and grit and determination and have a GREAT coach who actually has a scheme and draw's up plays on the go.........I liked the KB bust out on that OUT OF BOUNDS PLAY for an easy bucket........
If the MBB team had the leadership on the court AND on the sidelines that the WBB does , then the MBB season would look a lot different for the better..................One of the post game analysts said Coach Green should be B$G WBB Coach of the YEAR........I heartily concur........................
21-5 season record
10-4 conference record
# 1 in pru's heart......they really really are.....................Write the check Josh to keep Coach Green an Illini forever !!!!!!!!!!!!
We've been just outside the rankings the past two weeks, including 27th most recently. The issue, I think, is multi-faceted. 1) The computer rankings don't love us. We're currently only 33 in the NET and Massey has us at 35. 2) It seems like the women's AP ranking, for better or worse, fluctuates less than the men's rankings. In the men's, it feels like you lose you move down automatically. In the women's, not so much. Maybe that's a function of the pool of women's teams with legit histories is smaller than men's teams, so it's harder to break through on biases? Or maybe women's voters are just dogmatic about computer ranks? I don't know. We were ranked as high as 19 earlier in the season before the injuries. As someone who is not as up to speed with WBB, how is our women's team not ranked despite (a) their hot streak, (b) their overall record, and (c) them being ahead of multiple ranked teams in the standings?
Believe it was Ryan Gensler who indeed left for a head coaching job.Didn't the assistant(Bachand) that recruited her leave. Former Illinois player?
Both coach and Kendall stated that the game plan was to not double her. They were more concerned with kickouts for threes (which is apparently a big part of Nebby's arsenal) than they were with Markowski's twos. And, of course, we couldn't afford foul trouble on our scant bigs.Markowski is up to 24 points. Her size is a problem. Brynn needs to be faster on the double like she was against Penn State's big.
My favorite player and now maybe favorite person.
Coach Beasley runs all the out of bounds plays and I agree. That was sweet and executed to perfection.THAT'S A WINNER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry I wasn't clear. I meant t the assisstant coach at Nebraska who recruited Amiah. Kylie Bachand. Former IlliniBelieve it was Ryan Gensler who indeed left for a head coaching job.

I would love to say we that will happen but the best that I can see is 1 - 2. Zero for 2 on the west coast swing and then an inspired victory over SCUM at home. Going 0 for 3 is entirely possible with the recent injury to Jasmine Brown-Hagger and our already thin bench. Having said that, what these ladies have accomplished is phenomenal. They have totally bought in to coach Green and her staff, and should they go 0 for 3 in these next 3 games they are still a tournament team IMHO. I could not be prouder nor more impressed with they have accomplished this season.Well with a new injury geez, all we have to play are freshmen and Cori... That's painful to contemplate.I have seen other than Berry the other players don't seem to know the offense well.We are down Catoira, Hayven and I think the walkon Zenere, besides Cori, but Holy smokes WeGotAn8strate game winning streak off Seniors leading the charge. We still NEED two out of these 3 left to secure the double bye and to move of that lame projected 8 seed at least up to 6.
