Brad has been operating with “NIL” since he arrived …
One has to assume that Lou was too then, right? And Brad is responsible for more banners hanging in our rafters than Lou. So I guess I don't understand OP's point.

But fine, 3 banners and an Elite 8 in 6 full seasons. I agree, we should be outraged.

Side note: I still don't buy the "We've always paid players, NIL is nothing new" line. If players were always being paid then why were the players the ones fighting to change the system? Some players were getting paid at some schools - sure. But even with zero inside knowledge and generally being pretty conservative when it comes to hot takes, I am 100% certain that money was not flowing to the players pre-NIL in the same abundance or frequency that it is today.

I’m taking Jeremiah over Kylan … Which is really what it came down to … Jeremiah committed before Kylan and was clearly talented enough to play here …

Riley doesn’t play the same position …
You also got DGL in there. but two things with this:

1. technically he didn't. he was committed in the class of 2025 and decided to reclass when the entire team was assembled....literally. if you were to take him there probably would've been a wrench in a few things. He left/reclassed on July 1st iirc.

2. Just to put it simply... at that point, Kylan just seemed like the better player. We also really needed experience and this is a 17 y/o freshman and a proven, grown 20-21 y/o. No one envisioned him (Kylan) looking like this. To look at this in totality, he's been a major disappointment. Ben takes a lot of heat, but I'd argue Boswell's been the even bigger disappointment.

I think it's pretty obvious that the NIL is way way more money and for war more guys.

Maybe top 30-50 recruits we're getting some money(think Ayo and Kofi) but I doubt others were getting much.

Cam Newton allegedly got like 250k and guys like that are getting millions now.

I appreciate all our insiders. My post was not meant to be a comprehensive list, but I will happily abandon Insiders Tracker™ responsibilities so that someone can do a version that lists all the other insiders that have not weighed in on this issue.
No I think you're onto something. We need an insider cheat sheet. Although I'm pretty sure they're all just different personalities of Dan who is an insomniac manufacturing soap in an abandoned house in Urbana.

BTW - I appreciate all our insiders coming here and sharing what they've heard. It genuinely enhances my fandom. 🫡

Insiders are awesome and much appreciated, agree. I try to give a summary once in a while (if for no other reason than to reduce the repetitive and already-answered questions from other posters) but it is a bit of a minefield. You'd never want to mis-represent or give an incorrect attribution.

Written inquires to insiders may be submitted below (quoting an old post of mine, sorry). @Baskins Tiger was (is?) an insider for the women's team.

boo-hoo. i think indy's being honest about what's happened and what needs to happen. meanwhile your posts read pollyanna-y and head-in-the-sand.

The angst over someone's perfectly reasonable opinion is over the top.

Where was the angst? I made a general observation... and said nothing about someone else's opinion

So what exactly are you trying to accomplish with this interaction you've initiated with me?

But, to your point: There sure has been a whole lot of crying on here the last month or so, hasn't there?

I posted on here around this time last year that Fears was wanting to reclassify … It wasn’t a secret or last minute thing … Jeremiah was even public about it …

Staff expects Morez and Tomi back. It's not really a secret. I do agree with Indy in terms of changes need to be made with staff/philosophy this offseason.

They definitely expect both back and I think Tomi comes back …

Morez I am just not as confident about personally … The early season issues with not starting … The issue of TA leaving … Where does TA land ? I’m just sort of waiting on the dust to settle there before I say for sure that he’s back … But Lville is right … The staff is very confident he will be back …

There are the real insiders on this page (which we all appreciate for their information, even if it turns out to not pan out) and the fake insiders that come in for chaos. I think Dan should create a logo or icon that would be affixed to posters deemed to be the real insiders.

Staff changes need to be made for sure and the philosophy definitely needs to be changed!!! I really hope that Tomislav and Morez are both back but at this point I need to actually see that happen when the season ends.
