That was mostly tongue in cheek but sure a little bit. Reflects on the schools when they hire a known cheater. I mean didn’t he get a show-cause at Tennessee? Should be career-ending but those days, if they ever existed, are long gone.

You want my true #1 just look at my avatar. Never forget 1989…
Even before these days, the SEC never cared about those things. There's a reason SEC also means "Sure, Everyone Cheats".

Late to the game, but lacing them up anyway.....

1. Indiana. - Will never forget BK bullying Henson or the samcum IDKWTI
2. Iowa - Satan and America's most punchable faces
3. MSU - I have them here for the Ayo face mask days. Looked like a paid hit by suzy-q. Also for izzy mispronouncing Ayo.......And all the whining.......
4. mizzery. - we should NEVER EVER lose to them.
5. dook. Just no.
6. kentucky. Just no part 2.
7. auburn
8. houston
9. maryland - ugh

I feel the mark of delineation here is somewhere around the year 2000. From what I've seen, if you attended Illinois and were a big Illini fan sometime in the 80s and 90s Mizzou will be rated highly, but for the fans who attended Illinois and were big Illini fans from 2000 on, the games simply didn't hold as much weight because we won 9 straight in that time and went 14-4 even during down years. So my guess is for fans under the age of around 40 Mizzou is just looked at as a team you should beat every year. Or in other words, they're looked at as much as a basketball rival as Mizzou would consider us a football rival.
I have had to explain this to my 34yo son Mizzou grad. He didn't know the Norm Steart-Lou Henson era. He knew Henson because of me and my wife. We' re starting to enjoy the rivalry in a very healthy way. I told him back in mid December, leading up to Braggin Rights, that I thought Mizzou was really good and predicted they would be in the middle of pack in the SEC, above .500. I him told I that expected Braggin Rights to be close. He thought, based on what I told him about the Illini, that Mizzou would get blown out. [In fairness, he hadn't watched much BB, with twins just turning 1]. Right now, I'm getting a lot of respect from that young man.

I see "anywhere Kelvin Sampson is" on a few more of these lists than I expected. I was as pissed as everyone else at the time (and for years following) but my disdain towards him has really mellowed the past few years, mostly because of how much fun his Houston teams are to watch. Am I alone in this?

For whatever it's worth, my hatred for Bruce Pearl burns unabated. I hope he !!!!! his pants every day for the rest of a foreshortened life.
I would agree with this. He made my list of shady coaches last year, but I don't put him in Pearl's category.

I'm in complete agreement. MSU has never been on my list. I love these threads with "lists". In my almost 50 year Illini history, I had my moments including Indiana, Michigan, Iowa, and little NwU in the Big10. Outside the B10: AZ, NC, Pitt, ND...? The only schools that remain are ND for certain and Pitt to a much less extent. We should start a list of the top 3 teams we do NOT want to see win the NC, regardless of reason (that's optional). Mine are Auburn (Pearl), UConn (obviously), and TN (probably just residual effects)
For me the teams I'd like to see win it all the least:
1. Indiana- A return to a world revolving around the Hoosiers? That sounds like hell.
2. Auburn- Bruce Pearl is pure slime. He shouldn't be allowed to coach peewee ball let alone college ball. May he never win it all.
3. Iowa- Residual hatred from the 80s and then Pearl.

5. Idiots

I'm 49. I was an IU fan until Junior year of high school (my best friend was a huge IU fan and got me into cbb). I got smart that Junior year. Then some years doing the good work of the USMC before setting foot at UIUC.

As many of you know, Bruce Pearl coached the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, Indiana, for a period of time. There is a Bruce Pearl drive on the west side of Evansville close to the movie theater complex.

Finally got some time to give my post game thoughts …

1. LOVE the starting lineup adjustment …

2. When Tre White rebounds … He’s a really freaking good player … Rebounding turns into second chance points which gives him confidence … He’s also 7-13 from 3 in his last 3 I believe ? Those corner 3s he is shooting with confidence … More of those please …

3. Consistent Kylan with no fancy passing and no bad threes can take this team to another level … Heck of a job on Wolf defensively …

4. This felt like the right amount of minutes for Ben with Morez out … 20-25 minutes … Those 1H threes were UGLY … Glad he got a couple to drop though …

5. Jake Davis … Exactly what we needed from him …

6. Will Riley did a little bit of everything and that’s the version of Will we need …

7. DGL … Nothing to say but I’m sorry kid …

8. Brad … Good adjustments … Shortening the rotation is the right decision …

When we lose again you will have 8 points on why BU should be replaced, doesn't have his coaching fire any longer, how Sean Miller is waiting in the wings, etc.

Hope it doesn't change anytime soon, even with Morez coming back (okay to bring him off the bench IMO; especially considering the injury). Bad starts have been such a problem this year; having your best starting lineups out there (which hasn't been the case this entire season until now) is very essential, especially now that they're playing well.

Notre Dame have to be included on the list as they colluded along with Satan and booby

I absolutely love his hair. As someone who is clearly losing his hair, that head of hair is flat out glorious.

2. Iowa - Satan and America's most punchable faces
While MSU may be the sneaky dirtiest team over time, Iowa certainly has had its share of flat out dirty players.

Jacob Jaacks
Chris Kingsbury (and if that Kingsbury kid playing now is his kid, I’m sure that kid’s a dirty player as well)

I remember it well Pru. The only way to really follow it closely was by reading Loren Tate daily in the News-Gazette. Not only tragic for The Illini Nation but especially so to a true Gentleman - Coach Henson, and of course nice-guy Deon Thomas.

Notre Dame used to be VERY high on my list. I still have a high disdain for them in football (was even cheering for OSU, yuck!). To me, they have become irrelevant. Likely, because we rarely play them.

Hadn't said much about this game so far but it's a huge win. Michigan had only lost once in their place all year. To me, they are an okay team that has some toughness and some luck to get to where they are. But we still did a great job to beat them down, and that rebounding needs to continue the rest of the season for us to have a shot at making a run.

Making shots helps, too.

As long as the Kingsbury kid doesn’t pee in any hotel fountains, he’ll be fine.
