I believe when we lost to Virginia Tech that was the last game of the night.Definitely haven't had many late ones. I think the '09 tourney where we lost to Western Kentucky was a late one IIRC.

It was late as the game was on the west coast, but we played on Thursday that year. With this game being so late on a Friday we are one of the last games to get underway in the entire first round.Definitely haven't had many late ones. I’ll absolutely waste some time tomorrow looking all of this up, haha. But put me in the camp this year that loves our timing … if we DID lose at like noon on Thursday, it would ruin the whole First Round for me.It was late as the game was on the west coast, but we played on Thursday that year. It's certainly one of the latest I can ever remember in terms of time and being on Friday. The Chattanooga game in 2022 was on a Friday night, but it was closer to 5-6:00pm.
Lost an incredibly late 6-11 game (though we were 11) to Tulsa on St. Patrick's Night 1995. The preceding game went to triple overtime as 14-seed Old Dominion shocked 3-seed Villanova. So beating Tulsa would have given us a great shot at the Sweet 16. Lou Henson's last NCAA game at Illinois.I believe when we lost to Virginia Tech that was the last game of the night.
“If a man can’t look out after his son(s) what’s this world coming to?” A quote from Chicago Mayor Richard J. Daley, after steering a big insurance contract for the city of Chicago to his to his son.Yes if there's one thing we know about Brad, he has no time for people living off their dad's success.
Love the fire he brings, but he is too streaky to be relied upon as a consistent producer if we are trying to build a top 25 team. Wish him nothing but the best and hope he lands in a good situation!I would say DGL is right there with him

Your definitely right but I have a feeling we will be playing Xavier. I think Sean knows what know, too...Boswell 1000% ...
Hamer if you are reading this ... Go watch the Oklahoma game film vs Texas ... Moser figured out how to take him away ... Take notes ...
It is difficult, or so it seems based on a million years of history, for a teen to understand one factoid of life. "Quitters never win and winners never quit". So true and a standard of my college coach. Also stuck in my mind from his constant favorite quotes, " When the going gets tough, the tough get going". Both are absolutely true and should be woven into the minds of everyone. Of course, that assumes that we all have the same definition of tough and quitting.... and that varies greatly on this earth.. Doesn't bode well for his future here or anywhere.
Honestly, can we chill with the constant bashing of Booth? Have we learned nothing from last year? The guy hasn’t even been publicly accused of anything—on or off the court, not even falsely. His biggest “crime” seems to be underperforming severely, being painfully awkward while doing it, and, oh yeah, being someone’s son—something he has zero control over. No doubt, he’s had a rough season. Probably one of our worst scholarship players in recent memory. And yeah, the NIL era definitely isn’t doing him any favors narrative-wise.
But seriously, can we have a little empathy? Was everyone here a star athlete in high school, or does no one remember what it felt like to get picked last in gym class? Now imagine feeling that every single game, on national TV, while getting dragged nonstop on social media. Imagine what that does to your psyche.
Dogging on the coaches all you want. But for crying out loud, Booth is just 19. He’s just a kid trying to figure sh** out—like we all were at that age.
I agree..he seems to have that willingness to do whatever it takes for the team to winI agree with you, it seems like it. But, he should also look at his situation as on the other side. He played over 500 minutes, on a top 25-ish P4 team, as a sophomore, and IMO he looks like a much improved player from last year. He isn't in a horrible spot here (knowing that he could be recruited over,) and as a third year player with the same coach, he could be on a Coleman like progression. He probably won't think that way, and he should grab a bag if he can, but I'd like to see him back.
It's tough for these teenagers that thought they were going to be heading to the NBA to come to grips with the fact they aren't good enough to see the floor on a top 25 team. Grit is an acquired skill, a lot of kids will go into a bit of a shell and shut down for a while.Amen to that. These are just kids. We have beat this dead horse way too many times.
At one point are they not kids anymore? They are over 18 years old and making pretty solid money at this point. Also, they get to play a game for a living.Amen to that. These are just kids. We have beat this dead horse way too many times.
So back to this! The the first NCAA Tournament I can remember is 2001 when I was in third grade, but I went back to 2000 for an even cutoff, haha.I’ll absolutely waste some time tomorrow looking all of this up, haha. But put me in the camp this year that loves our timing … if we DID lose at like noon on Thursday, it would ruin the whole First Round for me.

This year's team could have used another effective big so that Brad could have played Tomi and Res together more.I think the Booth miseducation is a bit overblown. Yes he hasn’t panned out. But like just about every other p5 team (Sparty excepted), we were never going go more than 7-8 deep. One of Tomi/Morez/Ben/Booth was always going to wind up the 9th or 10th guy and essentially be our Brandon Leib emergency big. Booth’s shortcomings have hurt more due to the injuries/illnesses we’ve suffered in our front court but there aren’t many teams that are going to look good if their 10th man/emergency big has to play a rotational role and that usually doesn’t happen.
Kid has tools. We tried it out. For whatever reason it hasn’t worked out. But I don’t think he was ever going to play in front of Tomi Morez and Ben so was due for a limited role this year regardless.
