this is soooo wrong lol. morez is like in the top 1% when it comes to athleticsm for big guys in the conference, maybe the nation.
I wouldn't say top 1% but he is a pretty athletic center. He's is fairly mobile but not super bouncy. He needs to work on his lateral movement and guarding on the perimeter.

Someone else mentioned it earlier but he should try to be Oscar Tshebwe 2.0 instead of trying to shoot.

Morez's path to the pros is to basically be a dirty work type guy. Be an all world rebounder, provide rim protection, and work on lateral movement and quickness so he can switch and guard on the perimeter. Combine that with rim running and dunking which he already can already do and he can be an NBA role player.

Then if he can get to that level he develop as a shooter while first being a role player like a lot of bigs do. Basically try to follow the Bam Adebayo template.

It’s just him taking a jump shot lol … something they are saying Tyler wouldn’t let him do.
Honestly, I love Morez but Tyler was right if that happened.

Morez isn't exactly a good shooter and the mid range jumper from a bad/mediocre shooter is about as bad of a shot as you can take.

I'm not saying Morez can't develop that part of his game but his shot looked kind of flat and his release is a bit out in front of him from watching warm ups(I actually think Ty's jumpshot mechanics look better).

How do we even know he was a bad shooter? I don't think we saw him shoot almost at all. He might be good or terrible, but we don't really have the data to judge.

I know this was facetious, but my hesitance to embrace the new world is because none of these kids (other than maybe the hometown hero) truly does bleed orange and blue. They all bleed green. And more power to them.

But I want to root for kids who want to be here for non-monetary reasons. Not just the ones who are paid the most to wear out laundry.

I’m with you 100%but it’s not gonna happen like that anymore. Get use to teams you don’t know the players names until December. While that same team you won’t remember them at all 18 months after the season is over. We will need a ban on using initials here moving forward for those of us that don’t follow it 20 hrs a day.

It was said elsewhere by someone that he did not shoot well in practice. On the other hand the opposite was true for the 3 point snipers in practice.

He’s gonna chase somewhere desperate enough to make him test it out as a stretch 4 or whatever in an ill advised pursuit of making him more of an nba prospect. That won’t work and he won’t make nba and probably just hurt his nil case as an upperclassman by not just being what he’s good at. Problem is every top 50 recruit thinks they’re a superstar and only bad coaching can hold them back but there’s 50 guys every year as good as them…

Best I can do is Pryce Sandfort.

Coaching staff certainly does though.
I'd like to think so but they think Humrichous is a good shooter.
You honestly think that the staff doesn't chart every single shot in practice/scrimmages ???

And that’s the problem. I am disenfranchised with the product as it is today. I watched less than half of the Illini games this season because I just didn’t care about all these new kids. And it’s not going to get better next year….or the year after that.

I know that nobody cares, but I just don’t enjoy a college basketball product that just shuffles the deck every season. I am probably in the minority and the money will still flow without me. It just bums me out.
