Well because he doesn’t deserve it. If you watched all games it was obvious this TO “stat” is pointless. When he did have the ball, if he was wide open, he immediately threw up a 3 that wildly missed on most occasions. If he was guarded, he would pass out with minimal dribbling.
I'd even argue its far more important for lower usage players to limit mistakes if they want playing time. If KJ commits 6 turnovers, he still comes out and plays 35 minutes the next game and the game after that and the game after that. Ben is merely a connector on offense who will shoot open 3s (though he is often involved in PnR actions). Players like that have little margin for mistakes. If Ben were to commit a bunch of turnovers, he'd come out and Jake - or pick anyone - would come in to the game.
Anyhow, I'm ready to put this to bed. I never said it was most important statistic on planet Earth, but its also far from pointless or meaningless.
