Only 8 to 10 months before we know who's on the 2026-2027 roster, while we're still 2.5 months before the 2025-2026 season opener.
Can't say we're not forward thinkers!

Are you telling me without really saying it that this kid is a winner regardless of his ranking ?.kid had a great summer and his team (BBE) won the Peach Jam. that's 2 titles in a row. oh, and his HS team is state champs
No guys, you don't understand, you need to save money on some recruits so you can pay the expens- wait, it's all 3-stars? You mean to say the writing actually was on the wall when we signed the first two 3-stars? No way...So that our third kid in this class thats outside of the top 150...
Why would you spend all your money on 18 year olds when there’s a transfer portal full of 21 year olds? Not to mention the EurosNo guys, you don't understand, you need to save money on some recruits so you can pay the expens- wait, it's all 3-stars? Sure, if you're on a budget it makes sense to prioritize. The problem is when you're in a league with unlimited spending, simply having a budget means you're starting the season behind. Like this whole conversation about the Illini is exactly what I hear with the Cubs and their mantra of "smart spending". The fact that we're chasing 3-stars this early tells me the top 10, maybe even the top 20, have left us behind. Why would you spend all your money on 18 year olds when there’s a transfer portal full of 21 year olds? But we do spend. We’ve had a top 10’sh paid roster both of the past 2 years. Seems our staff is simply prioritizing spend in the portal and Euros over high school.Sure, if you're on a budget it makes sense to prioritize. Seems a bit lazy to me…
Lazy in the sense of completely abandoning conventional recruiting for the current way. I’m hoping this season demonstrates otherwise and we win a bunch. In what way? I would’ve thought the opposite: recruiting all these players overseas requires a ton of extra travel and scouting as opposed to focusing on domestic HS recruits.

I just feel Brad gets single focused at times. Probably because I have the same trait to recognize it. lol.
