Davis and Gesky have actually been pretty solid. Its the other three that's really struggled.

They won’t do it this week (and may never)... but the Priestly RG, Schuster RT sounds pretty reasonable. You'd probably want a bye week to have that shuffling.

Why not rotate Hanson in at RG to light a fire under Hendersons !!!. It also could help him if he’s conditioning isn’t where it needs to be

This is the problem of being exposed of serious issues and having limited time before the next game to address those concerns and build your plan for the opponent.
Since they did it last year, I would think it might be easier. The question I have is why did they switch from what was working better last year?

I hope Patterson can shed a block on run plays, too. Makes you appreciate how amazing Witherspoon was for us.

We played so badly last week, this might be one of those games where the team rallies from within and takes an us against the world attitude and finds a way to win this game. That’s what i’m banking on. Nobody’s giving them a chance at home. That’s a good setup for an upset.
Oh how things have changed. Two weeks ago people here had us undefeated playing Ohio State with College Game Day here, while we're positioning ourselves for the playoffs.

Now, it's the us versus the world attitude needed to beat a fringe top 25 team in USC.

The damage 60 minutes can do to perception is real.

So, you're saying that last year was a fluke and the most experienced unit on the entire roster, the group that returned all starters that all played under the same coach, the anchor of why this team was ranked......that all went to crap because the coach forgot how to coach and he should be fired?

For informational purposes, when do the players take responsibility for themselves? Especially players with this amount of experience and knowledge, who are bonafide adults.

Dumb question, but bringing my Son's to our first Illini game ever. What would folks recommend for parking? Purchasing something before I come?

I would arrive early, and look ahead at the map below. Head to an Orange lot, or maybe Teal. Credit Card only, no cash. Enjoy the day with your son!!!

We need a big game and rest of the season from Kaleb Patterson. His poor coverage has been noticeable. His receivers have been targeted a lot, which tells you something. Rooting for him in big way!

I have family that is going to try to park in the research lots, does anyone know of it has actually “sold out” from gameday purchases before?

I think the research park lots were filled for the Michigan game last year. There are some lots near Kirby east of Neil street that are actually closer than research park. Usually $20 or $30 bucks.

I'm likely in the minority here but I like this idea for a couple reasons:

(1) I still have the shakes for all of the offensive line shuffling in 2023
(2) Bret has been clear about simplifying things on offense going forward. I'd rather keep the starting five intact and change the bigger strategy picture (for now).
Simplify, probably just needs to be you blocker-you block. 🙂

East?

When we win Saturday will it be bigger than last year Mich win?
It's close and perhaps even bigger for the football program. After last week's showing, a win here would be a great statement that we are for real as a program and save face on national TV and with recruits.

That said, the Michigan game was really a big step for us. It was a great showing for a national audience and the 100th Anniversary of Memorial Stadium.

The challenge is, past games are quickly forgotten, and one could say this game, the Washington game, tOSU games all could be the 'biggest' once they roll around. If we beat USC, then get destroyed by tOSU and/or Washington, this game will be forgotten. BUT, a win here would really help change the trajectory of many things for Illini Football after last week.

It always seems they've had some game day sales in those lots but I don't know for this exact game. If they get there early enough, I'd give it a shot.
