Article on coaching hire rumors. Cuz I really only care about Oregon State as far as coaching carousel, I was happy to see BEavers mentioned.

At Oregon State, former Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst, Montana State coach Brent Vigen and Alabama co-offensive coordinator JaMarcus Shephard are among the names that have come up in the search.

Based on what I’m hearing … Take a look at the color of the tie … They lead …

Word is 7 years … 110 Million … Plus bonuses …

That’s what’s on the table …

Lane could build a superpower at LSU.
He could.

But he also could fail.

He's done a good job at Ole Miss but he's also been pretty lucky the last couple years schedule-wise. I will say, at least this season he's taken care of business, and avoided losses to teams he should absolutely not be losing to (which was what kept him out of the playoff last season).

I get why LSU wants him, and there's definitely a chance he crushes there, but he's as much a sure thing as Sark was when Texas hired him (and that hiring has been meh, at best).

I'm gonna say there's 0.001% chance of this happening. No way the Gov'nuh is going to let a contract even more egregious than Kelly's get signed, especially with a brand new AD in place. I don't care what the booster roster is, not going to happen.

If I was hiring I would rank 1. Kiffin 2. Drinkwitz 3. Franklin 4. Kelly You want somebody who has had multiple +9 win seasons in P4 conference.

Cignetti and Elko have signed extensions.

Lea never won 9 games in first 4 seasons at Vandy. Might this year at 8-2. Campbell best record was 8-1 (2020) in 10 years at Iowa State.
Jedd Fisch has been at WA 2 years. He had one 10 win season at AZ . Florida might target him since he is alum and was grad assistant there.
These are not coaches who will contend for national championships at Florida, Penn State LSU.

JMO: Franklin taking VT job shows he does not aspire to win national championships. ACC is much easier than SEC or B10.

Drinkowitz took over weak Mizzou program and took them to 5 bowl games in 5 years.
Last 2 years in SEC 11-2 and 10-3. This year 7-3 like Illini.
I would put him on par with Brett. If we did not have Brett locked up AD's would be calling him.
Mizzou will sink back into mediocrity if Drinkowitz leaves. This will help our St Louis recruiting and chances of winning annual ARCH game.
