You know what? I'm not even upset. We're way ahead of schedule on the rebuild. We FINALLY have our QB/Coach. We won the division and a Playoff game. We beat the Packers twice, the second being their worst playoff choke ever. On to next year!
That was so close to a doink my goodness.
I don't get how you dislike it. Each team gets a possession in OT, unless a defensive TD or safety happens. It's actually the most fair way to do it.

Bears defense played their asses off. The offense just didn’t do enough.
Running game failed them in 2nd half.

With current OT rules, it's good strategy to kick. That way you know what your offense has to do to potentially win the game based on how the first possession goes.
As a neutral:
-In a game of this weather, you have to take the points. Ben Johnson should’ve kicked at least one of the field goals in the first half.
-DJ Moore quit on that route and then quit again not trying to prevent the INT
-Caleb is electric
-I was rooting hard for the Bears on behalf of my Illini fans and extended family, bummed for all you guys and gals!

Each team gets one possession: no score.
Then each team should get a second possession. Not just the team who had the ball to start OT.
It's better than it used to be, but we're still giving the advantage to the team who receives the kickoff (after the coin toss).

What a game. Been a Bears fan since 1960. This year was special and Williams will be back. The young players will grow from this year.
The first possession for each is an equal number of possessions. You'll get games pointlessly dragging on if you go further than that with each team getting the same. This isn't like baseball. The Bills are the main reason that we don't get an immediate walk-off TD on the first possession in the playoffs like we used to.
That cost them a football game. Wondering how much the media decides to run with it. He quit on routes last year.
Why did it take until the last two minutes and OT to get Caleb out of the pocket? All of those 3rd and 4th and shorts where they ran the ball into an eight man front is really, really disappointing.

Bears outgained the Rams 417-340. That’s a lot of yards for only 17 points.
Good point, and that's certainly the logic behind the rules.
What I'd then question is why did CHI not elect to receive after they won the toss. IMO, the advantage I just laid out far outweighs the "knowing what you need on 4th down" logic. At minimum in hindsight that's how it played out.
