Just not before a big game, à la Coleman’s birthday!

AP poll is a joke. Nebraska is not a top 4 team in the B1G. And certainly isn't a top 5 team in the country. The AP will continue to push there bs poll. And networks will continue to advertise it as something important.

I think Nebraska is a good team. Undefeated 20-0 coming into the week gives them a top 5 ranking more so than anything else. They had two of their main guys out vs Michigan and only lost by 3.

As far as the AP Poll, it is what it is. I pay more attention to the metrics/analytics as there is at least some granularity to sift through there that makes it interesting.

I don't think that anyone is saying he's going to sulk, but his role between when he got hurt and now has to be different. You don't want to take away from ANYTHING that Keaton is doing and you really don't want to eat into Jake's minutes because he's been lights out.

Of course it's going to disrupt chemistry. It's silly to not accept that. The team/rotations/roles are totally different from what they were five games ago and when Kylan comes back, the roles will change again. That doesn't mean we won't be better with him back, but minutes have to be altered for a second time. Who gets trimmed back? Is it Kylan's that gets trimmed back? Jack is a perfect role player in this lineup, is it his minutes? Do we play less of the towers together? Does Drej get his minutes/role changed?

It's not about anyone crying or complaining, it is recognizing that you have a team operating at an extremely high level right now. How do keep that going when you're reimplementing a guy who plays 30+ minutes? They have to come from somewhere.

It's going to be really interesting because I can guarantee you that this is going to weigh on Brad's mind as the time gets closer.
OMG give it a break I’m sure Brad will figure it out

In fairness, Nebraska up to this point had only 1 loss. By 3pts. To a Top 5 team. On the road. They also own a Top 10 round win and a Top 10 home win. They earned that Top 5 rank.

Better get ready. MSU will try to take him out.

Ok. Nebraska are a good team. And Fred is an excellent coach. But they are nowhere near a top 5 team. AP voters put there votes on teams W-L. Which is why Miami (OH), not a top 80 team, is in the top 25.

If any insiders see this, tell Underwood to show the msu film from last year to Keaton. He needs to see what happened to KJ.

I agree with you on the AP Poll being kind of bogus and they certainly aren’t a top 5 team. Somewhrre in the teens sounds about right for them.

In the February 1, 2026, matchup between No. 9 Illinois and No. 5 Nebraska, Illinois fielded a five-player lineup totaling 411 inches (average 6’10.2”):
• Tomislav Ivišić: 7’1”
• Zvonimir Ivišić: 7’2”
• David Mirković: 6’9”
• Ben Humrichous: 6’9”
• Keaton Wagler: 6’6”
This first-half combination, utilizing Illinois’ nationally tallest roster, is the tallest documented five-player unit in a top-10 vs. top-10 game. It remains below the all-time college record of 420 inches (UC Irvine, 2015, vs. non-Division I opponent).

I think Nebraska is certianly a top 4 team in the BIG so far

I assume we can all agree the top 5 are in no order, Mich, Illinois, MSU, Neb, Purdue?

Nebraska has played 4 games vs that group and gone 2-2 with one of the losses being against michigan without 2 of thier top 3 scorers (one of which torched us today)
We have played 3 and gone 2-1
MSU has played 2 and went 0-2
Michigan has played 2 and gone 2-0 wiht a loss to a team outside of the top contenders
Purdue has only played 1 and gone 0-1 with 2 losses to teams outside of the top contenders

Id argue that purdue only playing one game vs the contenders and still having the most losses puts them clearly behind Nebby in the power rankings at this point, not to mention behind on the real rankings/standings

I'd probably put Nebby over MSU as well given the head to head win and MSU not beating any of hte contenders.......and maybe a slight bias for watching them need a rutgers choke to beat a bottom feeder team

Conf only SOS for the contenders
Nebraska: 4
Illnois: 13
Purder: 14
MSU: 16
Michigan: 18

Hard for me to not see them as top 4 in the b10

Yeah, right. You must have not been here long. If we lose to MSU....come back and see the takes on Brad and the shoulda, coulda, wouldas. However, asking the same people that will complain then to offer an opinion now....can't come up with a rationale thought.
