I didn't say anything because it was so dumb (again)....but I called off work so I could watch Tuesday.
It's happened multiple times before (not just with Illinois but my other faves). I ignored it because I'm only a little 'stitious, and I can't stand that I have this much power and influence over my favorite teams outcomes.
So I just sat there shaking my head as we headed to overtime.

With that being said, I'm going to work on Sunday.

There is a lot of basketball left to play, and Illinois remains No. 5 in the NET. So, there is still a chance (albeit small).
Beat Michigan. ESPN (for what it's worth) put the remainder of Michigan's schedule strongly in their pocket (though who knows what happens in the B1G) but has us as 50-50.

The "blue hairs boomers" need to be loud too. As someone in this demographic, I defiantly have a pulse and love to yell at the TV and make drunken post showing my joy and frustration.
Yeah, I don't understand this. It seems like everyone in the Assembly Hall over 25 years old is afraid to or not interested in getting loud. We've been able to go to four to six home games per year and it seems the crowd is quiet until there's "something to yell about." And it seems like we're the only ones singing.

The Illini enthusiasm it greater at away games, at least basketball against Rutgers, Penn State and Maryland. There's a surprising good turnout and there's a lot of ILL/INI in the concourses. We were loud enough at a recent Rutgers game that we could be heard over TV and the commentators mentioned it. Imagine how loud if there was that kind of enthusiasm in the Assembly Hall.

We are class of '70, and if you want to hear louid, my wife is...enthusiastic...when we watch from home. You can probably hear her in Champaign.
